Farming Day and A Short Market Activity

Today as we continued our simple way of living here at the farm, we decided to visit our newly planted young coconuts. Old coconut trees must be planted new one so it can still produced lots of fruits until it will cut. There are total of 100 Young coconuts planted here at the farm, and my Father gathered those young plants near at the river. This place here was not yet full with young coconut plants and there are lots of space for it. My Father and I were decided to went to the place so we can started to plant those young coconuts. It takes almost half day of planting and now, it slowly grows in stable. Last flood scenario, this area here was reach by flood water but gladly those young coconuts still standing and was not flashed away by floody water. We always checked those plants to see if there are harmful insects and not eaten by farm animals like Cows and goats. If we used tree guard it takes few days to built hundreds of it. After malching, we also cleared those wild grass grows and dump some dry leaves and any decaying materials to used as an organic fertilizers.

The renovations of our fish pond is not yet started because of the busy day we have. My Father was decided to hired few people who will incharge to clean this two concrete pond so we can start cultured lots of fish again. There are few big crack on the flooring because of the past strong earthquakes and few finishing touch at the walls and fish nets so birds cannot come closer to the pond. It will cost a lot of money but it is a good kind of business and investment we will do. For now, the structure is filled with dry bamboo leaves and dry coconut fruits.

This manual water pump of ours is very important here specially when there is a water interruption. But last day we mend this water pump because it was destroyed by flash flood and this concrete water tub also have small cracks. We used it to stored lots of water for our Cows and goats. Even if there is a crack, still it can be used to stored lots of water. The entire place surrouded in the water pump is concreted so we can avoid the mud.

I also checked some of our fruit trees just like this manggoe. We many times creating smokes near at this tree so it can produced Lots of fruits. Here at the farm, we planted fifty manggoe trees and gladly all of it are already produced fruits last fruit season.

Aside of young coconut plants, we also planted young banana plants and now it grows stable. I was very happy to see it producing lots of young leaves. But one of the problem we faced here are farm animals like cows, it eats those leaves but now the cows cannot reach the leaves because it is already tall. We cut the dry banana leaves and instead of burning it , we decided to dump it near at the stem use as an organic fertilizers. We plan to plant additional young bananas here at the farm so the place can be more productive.

Went To Market:

After that, I went to the market just to buy vegetables for our dinner. Gladly I wont take long waiting for any passenger vehicles and I reach the market for a few minutes. As I arrived there, I hurriedly went to the vegetable sections and looked for my favorite vegetables to cook.After a few minutes of searching, I finally brought potatoes, Cabage and Carrots. This will be perfect to cook added with sardines.

I only spent few minutes at the Vegetable stand and after that I started to looked for any motorcycle so I can went back home. As I walk at the street, I saw this tricycle bringing lots of bread, this is one of my Favorite snack Malunggay cheese pandesal. I brought 20 Pieces of it cost 100 Pesos and decided to went back home. Until next post, have a nice day to everyone.
