The beauty of rice in my hometown.

Today I want to share some more photos that I took earlier about caring for rice fields in the village,
I hope my post this time is useful for all of our friends.
Should farmers be able to care for rice plants properly and correctly? This is none other than so that the harvest results from year to year can be optimal and sell well on the market. Rice is the main commodity in Indonesia, unfortunately the quality of the harvest is often still low.

The low rice yields from local farmers are one of the factors that makes the government import rice. The low quality of local rice means supplies for domestic needs are inadequate. Apart from that, the low quality makes it difficult for local rice to compete in the market.

So far, most local farmers still use traditional methods to care for their rice plants. Even then, the knowledge obtained is not from expert sources or books and the like, but only passed down from generation to generation from ancestors.

However, considering that rice is the main food for Indonesians, large supplies of rice are needed. If the rice harvest is high quality rice, it will be competitive in local and foreign markets.

If local Indonesian rice is able to compete in the international market, farmers' income will also increase indirectly. We are no longer a rice importing country, but have changed to being a rice exporter for other countries.

Apart from caring for rice plants in the vegetative and generative phases, there are still several other treatments so that the rice harvest is good. This is a daily routine maintenance to keep rice plants growing well, which consists of:

Weeding rice plants every 2 weeks
Water as needed to prevent drying out
Control of pests that can attack rice plants. Usually the types of pests that attack rice plants are mice, planthoppers, grasshoppers and grasshoppers. Use organic pesticides as a safe pest control agent.
Put up scarecrows in the rice fields to ward off birds that can damage the rice plants.
