Butun uwi fruit is very rarely cultivated by the public.
On this occasion I would like to share some more photos that I took earlier about the Butun uwi fruit.
I will discuss Uwi Butun fruit in my area or in my city area, namely Aceh.
Uwi butun is a climbing shrub. Right-twisting winged stems up to 10 m or more long, branching freely at the top; square segments in cross-section. Roots are stringy and shallow, usually limited to a depth of 1 m from the soil.
Uwi Butun cannot be separated from people's lives in Indonesia. The use of uwi butun as a form of local wisdom, among other things, has been proven to be able to support food in the long history of the Indonesian nation. In line with current economic developments, slowly but surely there has been a shift in its unique role in society, both as food, medicine and socio-economic.
The purple Uwi Butun raw material can also be used to treat diarrhea in Aceh Besar. Uwi Butun contains alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids and polytenols (Ministry of Health 2009). Another specialty is that the purple color of some uwi cultivars can be used as a natural dye and has the advantage of containing antioxidants.
That's enough for me to tell you about my post this time, I experienced the Butun uwi fruit, which I told you about, if it's lacking or excess, I'm sorry, I ask my friends who are in ecensy, or in hive. Thank You.
