Marrying After The Death of a Spouse-Is it allowed by the Bible? Part 1|MCGI Topic Review

From the perspective of Bro Eli, I could see that the Bible supports the remarrying of a woman who has lost her husband-though I wonder why a man wasn’t explicitly stated.

But this explanation by Bro Eli further negates my belief and now I can clearly see the biblical truth which now brings light to me. Formerly I believed that marriage is an institution that is ordained by God, and as such, if one partner passes away, then there is no reason why the other should remarry, since they were both custodians of one purpose-Marrying someone else, who is not in the original plan then means going against God’s plan.

Because the word of God is true, quick and powerful as seen in Hebrews 4:12, I now see clearly that because we are weak, and God knowing our frame as written in Psalm 103:13-14, sees that we need companionship and because our emotions sometimes gets the better of us, He allows that the woman remarries so that she doesn’t feel too lonely and frustrated.

As seen in the video, Bro Eli also buttressed on the fact that aging also brings the need for companionship and because God knows that, He allows for it as long as it is in the confines of the word of God in Romans 7:2-3 which says: “For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

And so this makes me understand that clearly, God understands. He knows our weakness, He knows that we are dust and He knows our needs. What a loving father! That’s actually my favorite lesson from this video-whatever I am going through, God is not unaware and He has given a provision in the scriptures and all I need is to search the scripture and get the provision for my needs.
