Falling Inn Love~A Romantic Movie Review
I can say for a surety that most of my girlies here grew up watching Filipino drama series. Ranging from Mara and Clara to All my life and what have you..
A large number of us grew up watching these love-struck, romantic dramas.
My all-time favorite is the 2017 Filipino drama- Can’t help falling in love.
Oh, I can say with all honesty that I watched this drama over 10 times.
Funny enough, last week, I went to my movie app to download it again and I could not find it..waaah waaaah. Yeah, I felt really down because that drama was filled with all the emotional thrillers I could mention. Tears, suspense, joy, love, in fact, everything. But then, in the course of my search, I found this movie- “Falling Inn Love”
When I saw that the female protagonist bore a Filipino name, I decided to take my chances and honestly I wasn't disappointed. Yea it can't be compared to “Can’t help falling in love” but its very satisfactory.
It's an English-speaking movie by the way. A romantic thriller that you would enjoy.
Now let me give you a simple plot of the story. For the plot this time around, I would be doing a very simple summary because I really don't want to spoil the fun.
Okay so here we go:
So Gabriela Diaz is this hardworking, career-driven woman that is living in San Francisco. She is stuck in a relationship that’s going absolutely nowhere and she is also facing so much stress from her demanding job where she is not even appreciated.
When both her relationship and her job unexpectedly fall apart, drunk Gabriela sees this online contest to “win an inn” in New Zealand and she impulsively enters it.
But to her surprise, she actually wins!
Thinking it's the fresh start she had always wanted, Gabriela travels all the way to Bellbird Valley, New Zealand, only to find out that the “Bellbird Valley Farm Inn” is not the charming getaway she had excitedly imagined. Rather it is this rundown, falling apart, and very much in need of repair building.
After a series of troubles and making friends, she became determined to fix it up and sell it.
Gabriela teams up with Jake Taylor. He is the town’s most eligible bachelor. A handsome local contractor who has his own emotional scars; having lost his girlfriend in a tragic accident and has been hesitant to even give love a second chance.
As Gabriela and Jake work side by side on the inn’s renovation, they clash, bond and then slowly begin to fall for each other.
With time, Gabriela begins to feel more connected to the peaceful, close-knit town and starts questioning if going back to her city life is really worth it or even what she wants.
Just as she and Jake grow closer, Gabriela receives an offer to return to San Francisco and resume her old life. She now had to make a hard choice to either go back to her former career or embrace a new, quieter life filled with love and purpose.
In the end, Gabriela chooses love (as expected 😂) and community. She then decides to stay in New Zealand and run the inn with Jake by embracing her new beginning and the romance they have built together.
MOVIE REVIEW
I just love the movie. At this moment, penning this down, I'm excited and full of emotions at the same time.
I love how the movie orchestrated so many coincidental meetings between the two lovers.
Gabriella at first didn't want to have anything to do with him even though she found him so attractive but he liked her and always found her amusing.
I love Jake’s quiet life too. He just seemed to be in his own world but at the same time, he made himself available for the town and tried to be of help anytime.
Oh well, I think I'm done here, please guys go watch this drama because I'm rating it a 10/10. Yeap! I did.
See y’all later!
