The Lord's wonderful grace is reason enough to live a life of thankfulness. Are we thankful?

9 For I am the least of the apostles, not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more than all of them; yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11 For whether it be I or they, so we preach, and so you have believed.

1 Corinthians 15:9-11

The apostle Paul once said, "Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ." We see in him that attitude we should imitate as followers of Christ, and we find the following characteristics:

We must have an attitude of humility, since pride finds it difficult to find a place in the heart of a person who understands and lives a life based on the mercy and grace of God. The apostle Paul faithfully believed that grace is sufficient to save the sinner, just as he believed the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ was sufficient to save any person.

13 I was once a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent person; but I received mercy because I did it ignorantly, in unbelief.

1 Timothy 1:13

Another attitude we must develop is gratitude. Let us remember that the apostle Paul never forgot where the Lord had brought him from; he never forgot the grace of God. This is why the apostle Paul always reminded Christians that he was a persecutor of the church, of Christians, of those who love the Lord. This again demonstrated the Lord's grace in saving the most vile sinner like the apostle Paul.

10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. I labored more than all of them; yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

1 Corinthians 15:10

Another very important attitude is dependence on the Lord. This is the source of our strength. The apostle Paul knew and understood well what it meant to depend on his strength, since he was one of the most important religious leaders of his time. There came a time when he no longer wanted to know any of that. His attitude changed, and he desired more from the Lord and less from himself, since in his weakness he found his strength in the Lord.

Another attitude we should imitate from the apostle Paul is conviction. The apostle, already approaching his final days, was fully convinced that God was the only one deserving of all honor and glory. This was true for the apostle Paul immediately after his conversion and encounter with the Lord.

6 For I am now ready to be sacrificed, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me at that day. and not only to me, but also to all who love his appearing.

2 Timothy 4:6-8

Now that you know these attitudes the apostle Paul had, it is from what we should learn. Let us praise the Lord for all he has done in our lives, thus allowing and making room for his grace to be poured out abundantly in our lives.

La maravillosa gracia del Señor es suficiente motivo para vivir una vida de agradecimiento ¿Somos agradecidos?.

9 Porque yo soy el más pequeño de los apóstoles, que no soy digno de ser llamado apóstol, porque perseguí a la iglesia de Dios. 10 Pero por la gracia de Dios soy lo que soy; y su gracia no ha sido en vano para conmigo, antes he trabajado más que todos ellos; pero no yo, sino la gracia de Dios conmigo. 11 Porque o sea yo o sean ellos, así predicamos, y así habéis creído.

1 Corintios 15:9-11

El apóstol Pablo en un momento dijo: "Sed imitadores de mí como yo de Cristo", vemos en el esa actitud la cual deberíamos imitar como seguidores de Cristo y encontramos las siguientes características:

Debemos tener una actitud de humildad ya que el orgullo es difícil que encuentre un lugar en el corazón de una persona que entiende y vive una vida basada en la misericordia y gracia de Dios. El apóstol Pablo creía fielmente que la gracia es suficientes para salvar al pecador así como él, la gracia del señor Jesucristo estaba a la altura de salvar a cualquier persona.

13 habiendo yo sido antes blasfemo, perseguidor e injuriador; mas fui recibido a misericordia porque lo hice por ignorancia, en incredulidad.

1 Timoteo 1:13

Otra actitud que debemos desarrollar en la gratitud, recordemos que el apóstol Pablo nunca se olvidó de donde el señor le había sacado, nunca olvidó la gracia de Dios, es por eso que el apóstol Pablo siempre recordaba a los cristianos que él era un perseguidor de de la iglesia, de los cristianos, de aquellos quienes aman al señor, esto evidenciaba nuevamente la gracia del señor por salvar al más vil pecador como el apóstol Pablo.

10 Pero por la gracia de Dios soy lo que soy; y su gracia no ha sido en vano para conmigo, antes he trabajado más que todos ellos; pero no yo, sino la gracia de Dios conmigo.

1 Corintios 15:10

Otra actitud muy importante es la dependencia del señor, esto es la fuente de nuestra fortaleza, el apóstol Pablo sabía y conocía bien que era depender de sus fuerzas ya que él era uno de los religiosos más importantes de su época, llegó un momento que no quería saber más nada de eso, su actitud cambió y deseaba más del señor y menos de sí mismo ya que en su debilidad hallaba su fortaleza en el Señor.

Otra de las actitudes que debemos imitar del apóstol Pablo es la convicción, el apóstol llegando ya a sus últimos días estaba plenamente convencido de qué Dios era el único merecedor de todo honor y gloria, esto fue así para el apóstol Pablo inmediatamente después de su conversión al tener un encuentro con el Señor.

6 Porque yo ya estoy para ser sacrificado, y el tiempo de mi partida está cercano. 7 He peleado la buena batalla, he acabado la carrera, he guardado la fe. 8 Por lo demás, me está guardada la corona de justicia, la cual me dará el Señor, juez justo, en aquel día; y no solo a mí, sino también a todos los que aman su venida.

2 Timoteo 4:6-8

Ahora que conoces estas actitudes que tenía el apóstol Pablo, es de lo que nosotros debemos aprender, alabemos al señor por todo lo que ha hecho en nuestras vidas permitiendo así y dando lugar a que su gracia se derrame en abundancia en nuestras vidas.
