As for us, in the midst of trials and difficulties, let us keep our eyes fixed on God.

So Joseph was taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an Egyptian officer of Pharaoh's guard, captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there. 2 But the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man, and he remained in the house of his master the Egyptian. 3 And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made everything he did prosper in his hand. 4 So Joseph found favor in his sight and served him. So Joseph made him overseer of his household and put into his care all that he had. 5 From the time he had made Joseph overseer of his household and all that he had, the Lord blessed the Egyptian's household for Joseph's sake, and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had, both in the house and in the field. 6 And she left all that she had in Joseph's hand, and she cared for nothing with him except the bread which she ate. Now Joseph was of a beautiful countenance and comely appearance.
7 After this, his master's wife looked at Joseph and said, "Lie with me." 8 But he refused, and said to his master's wife, "Look, my master does not care for me about anything in the house, and he has put all that he has into my care. 9 There is no one greater than I in this house, and he has not withheld anything from me except you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?" 10 While she was speaking to Joseph daily, he did not listen to her to lie by her side and be with her. 11 One day he came into the house to do his work, and there was no one of the household there. 12 And she caught him by his garment, and said, "Lie with me." So he left his garment in her hand and fled and went out. 13 When she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and fled outside, 14 she called to the men of the house and said to them, "Look, he has brought a Hebrew to us to mock us. He came to me to lie with me, and I cried out loud. 15 When he saw that I lifted up my voice and cried out, he left his garment beside me and fled and went out. 16 She laid Joseph's garment beside her until his master came to his house. 17 Then she spoke to him the same words, saying, "The Hebrew servant whom you brought to us came to me to dishonor me. 18 When I lifted up my voice and cried out, he left his garment beside me and fled outside." 19 Now when Joseph's master heard the words that his wife spoke to him, "Thus your servant has done to me," his anger was kindled. 20 So Joseph's master took him and put him in the prison where the king's prisoners were, and he was there in the prison. 21 But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. 22 And the keeper of the prison gave Joseph charge of all the prisoners in that prison; he did whatever was done there. 23 The keeper of the prison did not need to attend to any of the things under Joseph's care, because the Lord was with Joseph, and whatever he did, the Lord prospered.

Genesis 39

I'm sure that, like me, you've faltered in your faith at some point in your life. I believe that this doesn't happen to all believers. But when it happens, how can we minimize doubts? To do this, it's important to keep our eyes focused on God so that we don't stray from God's will.

We have this example of Joseph, who had fully trusted in God during the most terrible and worst experiences of his life. This faith sustained him in the midst of trials, in the midst of this terrible betrayal, in the midst of slavery, and even faithfully supported them when he was imprisoned. Joseph always placed his full trust in God and never let his circumstances, the opinions of others, his environment, or anything else distract him from acting according to God's will.

Joseph decided to do his best work, to do everything with excellence. Perhaps the tasks entrusted to him in Potiphar's house were not that important, but he still performed them with excellence as if they were for the master. This was a very important point for Joseph, as he received the attention and, even more so, the respect of his master. In this way, Joseph, as a Hebrew slave, was rewarded with greater responsibilities.

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as for the Lord and not for men;

Colossians 3:23

23 The keeper of the prison did not need to attend to any of the matters under Joseph's care, for the Lord was with Joseph, and whatever he did, the Lord made him prosper.

Genesis 39:23

As Joseph went through trial after trial, difficulty after difficulty, he remained focused on the Lord who had shown him His intentions through relationships. The Lord showed Joseph that He would put him in a position of leadership.

10 And he told it to his father and to his brothers. And his father rebuked him and said to him, "What is this dream that you have dreamed? Are you and your mother coming?"

En lo que refiere a nosotros, en medio de las pruebas y dificultades, mantengamos la mirada fija en Dios.

Llevado, pues, José a Egipto, Potifar oficial de Faraón, capitán de la guardia, varón egipcio, lo compró de los ismaelitas que lo habían llevado allá. 2 Mas Jehová estaba con José, y fue varón próspero; y estaba en la casa de su amo el egipcio. 3 Y vio su amo que Jehová estaba con él, y que todo lo que él hacía, Jehová lo hacía prosperar en su mano. 4 Así halló José gracia en sus ojos, y le servía; y él le hizo mayordomo de su casa y entregó en su poder todo lo que tenía. 5 Y aconteció que desde cuando le dio el encargo de su casa y de todo lo que tenía, Jehová bendijo la casa del egipcio a causa de José, y la bendición de Jehová estaba sobre todo lo que tenía, así en casa como en el campo. 6 Y dejó todo lo que tenía en mano de José, y con él no se preocupaba de cosa alguna sino del pan que comía. Y era José de hermoso semblante y bella presencia.
7 Aconteció después de esto, que la mujer de su amo puso sus ojos en José, y dijo: Duerme conmigo. 8 Y él no quiso, y dijo a la mujer de su amo: He aquí que mi señor no se preocupa conmigo de lo que hay en casa, y ha puesto en mi mano todo lo que tiene. 9 No hay otro mayor que yo en esta casa, y ninguna cosa me ha reservado sino a ti, por cuanto tú eres su mujer; ¿cómo, pues, haría yo este grande mal, y pecaría contra Dios? 10 Hablando ella a José cada día, y no escuchándola él para acostarse al lado de ella, para estar con ella, 11 aconteció que entró él un día en casa para hacer su oficio, y no había nadie de los de casa allí. 12 Y ella lo asió por su ropa, diciendo: Duerme conmigo. Entonces él dejó su ropa en las manos de ella, y huyó y salió. 13 Cuando vio ella que le había dejado su ropa en sus manos, y había huido fuera, 14 llamó a los de casa, y les habló diciendo: Mirad, nos ha traído un hebreo para que hiciese burla de nosotros. Vino él a mí para dormir conmigo, y yo di grandes voces; 15 y viendo que yo alzaba la voz y gritaba, dejó junto a mí su ropa, y huyó y salió. 16 Y ella puso junto a sí la ropa de José, hasta que vino su señor a su casa. 17 Entonces le habló ella las mismas palabras, diciendo: El siervo hebreo que nos trajiste, vino a mí para deshonrarme. 18 Y cuando yo alcé mi voz y grité, él dejó su ropa junto a mí y huyó fuera.
19 Y sucedió que cuando oyó el amo de José las palabras que su mujer le hablaba, diciendo: Así me ha tratado tu siervo, se encendió su furor. 20 Y tomó su amo a José, y lo puso en la cárcel, donde estaban los presos del rey, y estuvo allí en la cárcel. 21 Pero Jehová estaba con José y le extendió su misericordia, y le dio gracia en los ojos del jefe de la cárcel. 22 Y el jefe de la cárcel entregó en mano de José el cuidado de todos los presos que había en aquella prisión; todo lo que se hacía allí, él lo hacía. 23 No necesitaba atender el jefe de la cárcel cosa alguna de las que estaban al cuidado de José, porque Jehová estaba con José, y lo que él hacía, Jehová lo prosperaba.

Génesis 39

Seguro que al igual que yo en algún momento de tu vida haz flaqueado en tu fe, creo que a todos los creyentes no sucede eso mismo. Pero cuando sucede ¿cómo podemos reducir al mínimo las dudas?, para ello es importante mantener la vista direccionado a Dios para que así no nos desviémos de la voluntad de Dios.

Tenemos este ejemplo de José quien había confiado plenamente en Dios durante las más terribles y peores experiencias de su vida. Esta fe lo ha sostenido en medio de las pruebas, en medio de esta terrible traición, en medio de la esclavitud y aún los sostuvo fielmente cuando éste estuvo encarcelado. José en todo momento depositó la plena confianza en Dios y por nada dejó que su circunstancia, la opiniones de los demás, el entorno o cualquier otra cosa le desviaron la vista y del actuar conforme a la voluntad de Dios.

José decidió hacer el mejor trabajo, hacer todo con excelencia. Quizás las tareas que tenían encomendada en la casa de Potifar no era tan importante pero aún así él las hacía con excelencia como para el señor y esto fue para José un punto muy importante ya que recibió la atención y mucho más aún, el respeto de su señor, de esta manera josé, como esclavo hebreo fue recompensado con mayores responsabilidades.

Y todo lo que hagáis, hacedlo de corazón, como para el Señor y no para los hombres;

Colosenses 3:23

23 No necesitaba atender el jefe de la cárcel cosa alguna de las que estaban al cuidado de José, porque Jehová estaba con José, y lo que él hacía, Jehová lo prosperaba.

Génesis 39:23

Mientras José atravesada prueba tras prueba, dificultad dificultad, se mantuvo enfocado en el señor quien le había mostrado a través de relaciones sus intenciones, el señor le mostró a José que lo pondría en una posición de liderazgo.

10 Y lo contó a su padre y a sus hermanos; y su padre le reprendió, y le dijo: ¿Qué sueño es este que soñaste? ¿Acaso vendremos yo y tu madre y tus hermanos a postrarnos en tierra ante ti?

Génesis 37:10

José nos da una gran lección, su enfoque era práctico, aún en medio de las peores circunstancias el pensando en Dios y le servía sin condición de lo que sucediera, enfocado en el señor en lugar de centrarse en sus problemas y en las pruebas que atravesaba, éste es un gran ejemplo de fe.
