Feature Spotlight: Recurring Transfers
Properly not going to make a series out of this. But I think Recurring Transfers is a over looked feature for many! In my personal life I have automated as much as I can related to financing my future. So I have setup Recurring Transfers in real life for my Savings Account and for my Investment Account & its invested automatically into ETF's.
With Recurring Transfers we have something close to similar, but not 100% complete, here on Hive.
So lets talk about it and what use case it currently have and what I would love to see down the road (if possible).
Where to find Recurring Transfers
Peakd wallet > Bottom Right Corner.
I already have 2 and might add more in the future :D
What to make a Recurring Transfer
You can currently setup Recurring Transfers for Hive and HBD.
These are mine:
As you can see. I send 1 HBD to @eds-d every week (7 days) & There is 76 Remaining transfers left, when I sent HBD to @eds-d, I will get EDSD back which gives me more EDS weekly. So by setting this up like this, it will automatically send HBD to @eds-d and I will automatically invest and receive EDSD for that :D
I created a Recurring Transfer for @dustsweeper today. There I just send 1 Hive per week aswell and that will then be added to Dustsweeper which upvotes comments if other people have upvoted your comment and the value is low.
You can also create a memo via Recurring Transfers, which means it can be sat up to automatically buy shares for you and a friend in HSBI (@steembasicincome) or even @drawmatic which a lifetime lottery service :D Fairly new!
I am looking into using Recurring Transfer way more often than I already do and I am going to add @drawmatic into this + some other HBD transfer, if I can make it make sense :p
I have also seen people use it for P2P HP Renting intead of using Hive-Engine!
So it can have so many uses! But it could better.
What does Recurring Transfers need?
I lack the option to transfer Swap.Hive or any other token via Hive-Engine in this way & next step would be able to setup an automate buying feature using Recurring Transfers + the face value of a tokens. I don't want it to be a trading bot, but automatically buying up a token because you like it, would make it a way easier investment.
I am not sure this is something the Peakd Team can do or fix, might be a work with Hive-Engine Devs, if possible :D
Someone could also just make a Bot/Service to do this and even with a service of swapping Hive > Swap.Hive. Properly more expensive than just a bigger feature ^^

Min logik fortæller mig der skal være en konto som fungerer som main-wallet (eller holder) på den givne token. Købspris kommer så an på seneste pris fra Hive-Engine. På den måde er det stort set en P2P overførsel - men det burde bestemt være muligt, men ikke for Peakd teamet selv. Jeg er 98% sikker på, den er på Hive-Engine teamet, og så burde det være muligt pr automatik for enhver wallet på Hive.. tror jeg 😆
Men idéen er genial!

Jaa der skal være en ekstra account. Det kan jo laves som en bot lige nu, hvis folk gad.
EDSD er en form for miner, de er backed af HBD, så den interest der kommer er vidst den som bliver lavet EDS af eller sådan noget.

Oh wow bro, It's so cold how Recurring Transfers simplify financial planning. Definitely, automating investments and savings can really make a difference in the long run. I'm very very curious about future enhancements, especially involving different tokens. Thanks for this bro very helpful man

Recurring transfers is indeed an underused and undervalued native functionality on the layer 1.
It's ideal for a "subscription" sort of scenario too, because technically speaking, it would be easy to check if said subscription is active at any point in time, etc. I'll definitely be implementing it more in some of my projects in the future.
