Greetings, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

We have managed to make it through the first week of the new year, and now have arrived at my favorite day of the week: Caturday!

Yesterday, the Hoomans removed the last of the "Christmas bling" from the house and I sadly had to admit defeat for another year: I did NOT manage to climb that big tree they put in the living room every year...

I did manage to sneak in there a couple of times, though, and batted a few colorful ornaments around and chewed on some plants I wasn't supposed to. But if a cat can't be true it himself, what can he be true to?

Playing on the stairs... string is always good!

And no worries, the plants were not toxic, just delicate. The Hoomans strictly avoid having greenery that's toxic to cats in the house!

The Mom-Hooman has been shut in her home office remarkably often this past week.

She says it's because she's a "counselor" and there's always a flurry of clients who want to have sessions at the beginning of every new year, we suppose as part of their New Year's Resolutions.

I don't have any New Year's Resolutions other than to nap comfortably, demand treats and attention, and play with enthusiasm!

Oh... and of course share as many cute cat photos as possible with our fellow cat lovers here on Hive.

To that end, I see the Dad-Hooman is "on the prowl" with his camera at the moment, so I should probably put as much effort as possible into showing off my "good" side... namely, my butt!

If you know cats, you also know that turning your butt towards your Hooman is a sign of trust...

At some point later in the month, one of the Mom-Hooman's friends — who's also a professional pet groomer — is going to come for a visit to help give Smudge a winter trim... because Smudge's coat grows all the time, and in winter she ends up with a lot of matting.

Since Smudge has dealth with groomers all her life, she doesn't mind too much!

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
