Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

It is March 9th, and today we can proudly say that it is the 8th anniversary since we started the Curator Cat blog on Hive!

Pretty impressive, considering this started as just an experiment, because we had so many pictures of Shadow (aka "Curator Cat") we wanted to share... and not just on Facebook.

We started with just a $50 investment in powering up — which did not get you much, back then — and took it from there.

Thanks to a warm welcome, we were able to start building our fledgling account pretty quickly, helped along by several incentives for newbies... including various contests and challenges, as well as an initiative to "make minnows."

Just goes to show that cats are popular on the blockchain, as well as on the Internet, in general!

Shadow and Nala have become best friends!

Along the way, we have had various Fur Friends be part of the blog: BeBe the cat and Daisy the dog, now both gone across the Rainbow Bridge, and new friends Smudge, Shangri and Nala.

Of course, we have also made many friends here on Hive, which has turned out to be home to many cat lovers from across the globe.

And that's one of the very cool things about Hive... people here are from all over the place! As are, of course, their Feline companions.

Aside from just sharing our own cat photos, we also started the Hive Cats Community a few years back, inviting fellow Hive cat lovers to share their cat-related content. It may not be the biggest or most active Community on Hive, but we're happy to offer a dedicated space for cat content!

As we mark this milestone, we have posted close to 800 original cat photo posts, many of them celebrating that most important day for cats: Caturday!

If you happen to have cats in your life, why not share about them here on Hive? It's a nice diversion from all the financial, crypto and blockchain stuff!

Love Cats? Get Involved in Hive's Cat Communities!

If you're a cat lover and often/sometimes post pictures or other content that includes your feline friends, why not become an active part of Hive's growing Cat Communities?

These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Many of the allow you to share your cat posts, even if you started at a different community!

HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!

Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!

Caturday by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!

Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS!

Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community.

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
