Curator Cat: Caturday and New Cat Scratching... COUCH?
Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!
Here we are again, celebrating a bright and sunny Caturday, here at our place!

Enjoying a bit of sun from the Mom-Hooman's office
The Hoomans were all quite busy, earlier today... with the Dad-Hooman working in the garage, cleaning out old rubbish and taking it to the dump, while the Mom-Hooman and Son-Hooman went to a place called "Costco," in the next town over.
I always enjoy when they go to Costco because it usually means really big containers of cat food and treats suddenly show up!

Shadow and Nala, getting cozy!
While there were definitely the treats, the more interesting thing was that the Son-Hooman brought in a box and said "This is for you guys!"
Exciting, indeed! But it turned out that there was "some assembly required."
Not a problem... we entertained ourselves with the box that "the thing" came in.

What IS this odd thing?
The mystery object turned out to be... a new scratching post, more or less shaped like a tiny sofa!
Normally, we turn our collective noses up at expensive store-bought toys, but this one was different, with the tightly wound corrugated cardboard really inviting a good inspection!

This is verrrry interesting!
Nala was actually the first of us to figure out what the purpose of this new thing is... and gave it a good 5-minute long scratching!
After a few minutes, we'd all given it a good try, and declared it "worthy." Except for Smudge, who seldom uses anything but the carpet right around her bed for scratching.

This item gets our stamp of approval!
So this was definitely a success... and we quickly forgot that we had been left alone for much of the day!
Of course, the Son-Hooman is also happy that we enjoyed his present!

Shangri, looking very elegant
No other major news to share this week... both the Mom-Hooman and the Son-Hooman have recovered well from their brief visits to the hospiral for minor surgical procedures.
We have had a few rare sunny winter days, and that has been really nice because it means we have better sunny spots for napping!

Smudge
The Mom_hhoman is slowly starting the annual process of giving Smudge her winter/spring haircut. You see, Smudge has the kind of coat that just grows and grows and has to be trimmed every now and then, or she just becomes a giant mess of mats and knots.
She's very good about getting her hair clipped, though!

Shangri, posing...
We'll refrain from saying anything much about Hive and the crypto markets... it's all a little depressing, these days.
Onwards!
We appreciate you stopping by our little cat blog, and hope your Caturday was a good one!

These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Many of the allow you to share your cat posts, even if you started at a different community!
HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!
Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!
Caturday by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!
Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS!
Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community.
There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!

Thanks for the support @ewkaw, appreciate it!

Those orange eyes are striking!
Thanks!
Our vet says this color is known as "copper" and is one of the rarest natural eye colors in cats. And it is very striking when the sun catches them.

I love learning new cat facts!
