Hive Power is like your saved-up HIVE tokens on the Hive blockchain. You "stake" them—meaning you lock them up—to give your account more influence, like extra voting power or earning rewards when you vote on posts.
Vests are the building blocks of Hive Power. When you stake HIVE, the system turns it into VESTS (short for Hive Backed Dollars, but think of them as special points). More VESTS = more Hive Power. It's like trading your dollars for arcade tokens: the tokens (VESTS) let you play the game (the blockchain) with full strength.
