Cycling Back to Gardens by the Bay
Today’s venue for cycling was the ever-beautiful Gardens by the Bay, and I have to say, I was really happy that I finally made it there this time.
For the past few days, I had already been trying to visit this spot, but my timing just never worked out. I kept missing that sweet window when the light was still bright enough for photos and videos. So in a way, this visit felt a little extra rewarding because it was something I had already been looking forward to. Sometimes, finally reaching a place after a few failed attempts makes the experience feel even more special, and that was exactly how it felt for me today.

I chose Gardens by the Bay not only because it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the city, but also because I wanted to practice my videography. When a place is already visually impressive, it becomes such a good playground for creative work. Of course, one of the downsides of coming here is the crowd. Since it is a famous attraction, there are naturally plenty of visitors walking around, taking photos, exploring the gardens, and simply enjoying the area. But honestly, if you are okay with the crowd, you will quickly realize that Gardens by the Bay is still such a wonderful place to hang out.
The place just has that effect.

No matter how many times I see the Supertree Grove, I still end up admiring it like it is my first time. The architecture is just so superb. It never grows old in my eyes, and I never seem to get tired of looking at it. There is something so futuristic and artistic about the way those giant structures rise into the sky. They look like something from another world, yet at the same time they fit perfectly into Singapore’s modern city vibe. I found myself doing several video shots of the Supertrees alone because they really deserved that much attention. From below, they look dramatic and towering. From farther away, they create a stunning silhouette against the evening sky. Every angle seemed worth capturing.
But aside from the Supertrees, I also found another spot that I really liked during this visit.

There was a lotus pond with a fountain that became the main focal point of several of my shots, and I think this part of the visit was one of my favorites. The fountain rising at the center of the pond, surrounded by lily pads and reflections of the sky, created such a peaceful and cinematic scene. It felt like a hidden corner within an already famous attraction. What I liked most about this area is that not many people seem to know about it yet, or at least it did not feel as crowded as the more famous sections of the gardens. That gave me more freedom to take my time, compose my shots, and just quietly enjoy the beauty of the place.

That contrast was what made today’s cycling trip feel especially memorable. On one side, I got the grand and iconic views of the Supertree Grove that always impress visitors. On the other side, I also found a calmer and more understated scene at the lotus pond, where the mood felt softer and more intimate. It reminded me that even in a destination that is already world-famous, there are still quiet little details waiting to be discovered.
Today’s ride was not just about cycling from one point to another. It was also about finally making time for a place I had been meaning to revisit, practicing my videography, and once again appreciating how inspiring Gardens by the Bay can be.
It may be a crowded tourist spot, but it is also a place where beauty keeps revealing itself, especially if you slow down enough to notice it.
