A Dream Staycation at Tarima Café and Staycation House in Catmon, Cebu

This very precious gem, in the mid of nature, and just near the national road and the sea, provides a very comfortable space to stay,have a welcoming atmosphere, and delicious meals that will make your vacation one to be remembered. This kind of place offers all you need for an ideal staycation, whether you are searching for a short getaway from the city or a peaceful space with all of your loved ones.

But that's not all — Tarima Café and Staycation House is not just limited to couples or single people seeking a short and quiet getaway. It's also a fantastic location for family get-togethers, reunions, birthday celebrations, and team-building activities! It's the ideal place to connect, to relax, and create a memorable experiences with friends, co-workers, and ofcourse, your loved ones because of its roomy and quiet setting.

This place can accommodate a variety of event settings, so you can just plan a fun team activity or a little celebration. Also, your gatherings will feel even more unique because to its breathtaking views, clean air, and comfortable rooms.

Now, I will give you a little tour of this lovely getaway, and my experience with my whole extended family.

We live just near Catmon, Cebu. Thus, the ride was just only around 1 hour. If you’re a first-timer visiting this place, don’t worry — they have signage along the road. As we arrived, we then chose which room we would be staying in. And guess what? They have a lot of rooms inside! We are a big extended family, and we’re glad that each family got a chance to have their own room. There were cabinets, extra foams, extra towels, extra blankets, and pillows provided in each room. After we arranged our things, we gathered in the living area while others were busy preparing our lunch.

After eating our lunch, some of us decided to take a nap and rest for a while. We didn’t swim yet because it was too hot. Once it cooled down, we decided to swim in the pool. They have two separate swimming pools—one for kids and one for adults.

In the evening, my cousins decided to go night swimming, but they were stopped around 9 PM because it was time to clean the pool.

After that we had a videoke session together with my aunts and uncles. However, this ended at around 11 PM because there was a time limit for using the videoke. It had to stop at 11 PM out of respect for those who lived near the staycation house. We were a bit disappointed at first, but we thought it was okay — because if we were in the same situation as those living nearby, we wouldn’t be able to get a good night’s sleep either.

So, we just decided to watch a movie and, later on, had our midnight snack.

And slowly, each one of us went to our room to rest. It was a very tiring day for me, but very productive. I was really happy because I got to spend time with my family. This happened during the summer vacation of 2023, so all of us were able to join. We were complete that time, which rarely happens, especially since some of us are still studying while the adults have work.

These are my Aunt and my Mother, having their chika (talk) session in early in the morning under the sunset. They were at the terrace in the first floor. There were hammok swing in there that are very relaxing to use.

In the second floor, they have this very spacious deck view. You can see the sea over here as well as the very green field.

They also have a floating breakfast, but for 1 person only (during our stay, I don’t know about others. I guess they also have good for 10pax? I am not really sure about it. Maybe it depends on your choice.). But it's okay because we brought our own food that time. But if you plan to visit here and don’t want to bring your own food, it's still fine; they have a store here where you can buy anything.

We spent the rest of our time enjoying the cool breeze and the peaceful atmosphere in Tarima. We also took lots of pictures to capture the breathtaking view all around us. It was a perfect moment to relax and appreciate the beauty of the place.

Other inclusion in Tarima Café and Staycation House are;

• they have a big parking area, max of 10 vehicles
• they have available pots, heater, ref, rice cooker, plates, and utensils provided inside
• no corkage fee for food and drinks (that’s why we just brought our own food and drinks to the venue)
• all of their water faucets are working (they have a lot of water there)
• you can cook inside, they have available gasul (LPG or cooking gas) and stove

For their Operating Hours (based on our experience, maybe it could be different for others);

• Check in Time is 1PM
• Check out Time would be 11AM

When it was almost time for us to check out, we slowly packed our things and cleaned up all the mess we had made. The venue has its own caretaker, but we are always like this — we will always be the ones to clean up everything before we leave. On our way back home, we talked about everything we experienced in that staycation house and how great our experience was.
