That Random 4PM Drink at Fred’s Revolucion
We weren’t really planning to drink that day. Addie and I had just finished our dance class and rewarded ourselves with a late lunch at Mary Grace. We were actually ready to go home after, thinking it would be a chill, productive kind of day.
But then our group chat suddenly got busy. Most of our friends wanted to meet at Cubao Expo for dinner. Gabbie said she’d treat us to coffee after, and Lotlot volunteered to buy pizza. Since it was shaping up to be a night full of treats, obviously no one said no 😂 It instantly turned into an unplanned get-together.
Addie and I walked from Gateway Mall to Cubao Expo and arrived around 4 PM, which was way too early for dinner. The place was still quiet, though some shops were already full and there were quite a lot of people around. We decided to reserve a table at Habanero Kitchen Bar first so we wouldn’t have a hard time later, then wandered around the area to pass the time. Cubao Expo has that artsy, vintage vibe, so it’s actually nice to explore even when we're not buying anything.
At first we thought about getting coffee somewhere, but then we remembered we were already having coffee after dinner. So we looked at each other and joked that maybe we should just drink instead 😂 I mean… it was only 4 PM, but also… why not, right?
We ended up at Fred's Revolucion because there were plenty of empty seats and the place was open-air. No aircon, but the breeze was surprisingly strong, so it didn’t feel hot at all.

We chose a table outside so our friends could easily spot us once they arrived. It felt very laid-back. We just talked and people-watch while waiting for our orders to arrive.
The walls were fun to look at too. They displayed different drinks, plus random paper bills and photos with handwritten notes. It's like who’s been there left a tiny memory behind. It gave the place a very personal vibe.
Addie ordered Camille’s Dream while I got Summer Ale. Camille’s Dream is their original drink. It's a mix of Tequila Rose, Irish cream, and milk. For me, anything with Irish cream tastes good, so when Addie let me try hers, I immediately want to order it too. It was sooo good! It's sweet, creamy, and dangerously easy to drink.
My Summer Ale was good too though. It is light, crisp, and refreshing. Not too strong, just perfect for the weather and for casually sipping while waiting. It felt like the right drink for a random afternoon.
We also ordered fries because we needed something to munch on. Time passed so quickly while we were talking, people-watching, and just enjoying the unexpected quiet before the rest of the group arrived.
I have a feeling this isn’t our last time… the rest of our friends were down to drink as soon as they arrived!
This is only my second time posting in the Beer Community, and I’m really glad this random afternoon drink with a friend happened 💛
This is #BeerSaturday week and I would like to invite @wittyzell to write a post in any language about beer with at least 3 pictures.
