My Hive account as a Golf Club membership

As it stand, Hive is a pretty niche social media platform.

It has been hard to use it like the other traditional social media like Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. Simply because I hardly knew anyone whom I have personal contact with.

I think this is going stay that way. Hive will remain a place a selected crowd will come in, i,e. I don't think it will reach mass adoption to the tunes of Facebook or Instagram.

I like to think of Hive as a Golf Club that has niche membership perks for its members.

Afterall, something like a golf club membership is not for the masses.

Members come to the club to socialize, perform some hobby activities and fulfil their affiliation needs. They usually don't join the club with people they already mostly knew, but come here and make new friends.

This is so much like my experience in Hive. I continue to mingle with faceless accounts, but enjoy the company nevertheless. For example, I write post as a hobby, sometimes thoughtful, sometime nonsensical even without beer, but I get some audience!

More importantly, it is a club where people bring their money into, whether its big or small in amount. It's like a membership fee, indeed.

Beyond the small talks, secretly we have a common love: to see our stash of Hive worth multiple times more.

Interestingly, we often also share ideas and tips about crypto investing, especially in Leo Finance, and open up new investment opportunities for each other. *This resembles so much like the real reason why people join golf clubs, to talk shop, share resources and earn more money!

There is one new thing that make Hive resembles a social club, and that is the interaction in Leo Threads. Indeed, threads brings Hivers closer in some ways as we shit post like we shit talk with our pals.

Overall, the value of one's golf club depends on whether it is well maintained and well-sustained with services and innovation.

Indeed, we are the ones building a better club in Hive, for the well-deserved new members who would pay to join us in the future.

Nevermind that Hive is never going to reach mass adoption like Facebook. We just need enough deserving niche members.
