What motivates you in Hive?

How about the game of breaking curation reward record as a target to motivate you?

Just like the high jumper above striving to overcome a barrier.

I lost track of how much my highest curation reward was. Maybe it's about $10.

This is a far cry from what we see some accounts regularly gets, to the tunes of $20, $30... $60 etc. from a post that isn't that elaborate.

After investigating, I finally comes to realise that such accounts get such value due to automated voting by certain curators. It has little to do with the quality of post, I believe.

Getting high value curation reward is actually more due to:

1. Regular auto-voters who has selected to vote every post
2. Luck with curators who has a long list of follower in curation trail

This means that there is something controllable and something uncontrollable about getting big curation rewards.

What one can control is to turn up regularly to post, and hopefully writing some quality enough to get some regular auto-voter. Of course, these will need sincere interaction with these potential accounts. Honestly, it takes effort for one to set the auto-vote arrangement to support a particular account. So this is quite a long journey.

With that out of the way, the exciting part is to get upvoted by curators with plenty of followers who will autovote.

This is the exciting part! Because there is uncertainty around that.

With every post, there is a chance to break one's curation reward record, and we can view our posting as a game while improving our game by writing good post one after another.

In my case, I will be watching how my curation reward is exceeding the bar!
