Street Art in Faro - Part 2 [ENG-PT/BR]

In the historic center of Faro (Portugal), I found this diva of music and cinema. In a simple painting on the window of an abandoned house is Marianne Faithfull, with a caption referring to the film “The Girl on a Motorcycle.” It's not a big mural, but it certainly awakens a generation and engages true film buffs.

Marianne Faithfull and Alain Delon starred in this film directed by Jack Cardiff, an erotic drama full of flashbacks and psychedelic flashes. This cult film from the 1960s portrays the freedom and desire of a newly married woman to ride a motorcycle (Harley-Davidson), associated with the male imagination of the time.

In the US, the film was distributed as an “adult” film and was called NAKED UNDER LEATHER. In France, it became famous under the title LA MOTOCYCLETTE.

No centro histórico de Faro encontrei esta diva da música e do cinema. Numa simples pintura na janela de uma casa abandonada está Marianne Faithfull, com uma legenda que remete para o filme “The Girl on a Motorcycle”. Não é um grande mural, mas, com toda a certeza, desperta uma geração e envolve os verdadeiros cinéfilos.

Marianne Faithfull e Alain Delon foram os protagonistas deste filme realizado por Jack Cardiff, um drama erótico cheio de flashbacks e lampejos psicadélicos. Este filme de culto dos anos 60 retrata a liberdade e o desejo de uma mulher recém-casada a conduzir uma mota (Harley-Davidson) associada ao imaginário masculino da época.

Nos EUA o filme foi distribuído “para adultos” e tinha o nome NAKED UNDER LEATHER. Em França ficou celebre com o título LA MOTOCYCLETTE.
