Minimalist view [ENG-PT/BR]

The possibility of organizing my work has been very beneficial during my stay at HIVE. Thirty-five years of photographic activity. Fourteen years in the analog process and the rest in digital. When the 2020 lockdown hit, I had the opportunity to organize the analogue process. With digital, it's hopeless. There are external disks full of folders, the older ones are difficult to open with the new operating systems, you name it. It's stressful!

The possibility of separating works by chronology, themes, processes or aesthetics makes it easier to choose content for the publications I want to present. That's the case with this one, proposed for the #monomad contest. A sharing of minimalist photography that I really like to explore.

Minimalism is a movement that originated in New York between 1950 and 1960 and brought together various aesthetic, cultural and scientific currents. Minimalism strives for a minimum of resources and extra elements, reducing everything to the bare essentials. The power of synthesis and austerity are the input of this movement.

Minimalist photography also seeks simplicity, the essential, reducing figurative elements in the image. The conceptual structure is based on symmetry, geometric lines, repetitive elements, strong contrasts, simple backgrounds and lots of negative space to direct attention. All in favor of clarity, simplicity and the power of synthesis. Where less is more.

Olhar Minimalista

Catorze anos no processo analógico e o restante no digital.

These photos are not just photos... I really like the insight, the frame you gave and how geometric you made it. The frame often is just small, but so inviting to imageine what is aside of that. Plus the coloring... Really well done! This pics are more than just photos... Respect to you! You really do something... and it seems like that you know what you are doing. Obviously you have the right eye. Most people wouldn't see what your eye can see. You do really good and I really can image that you can publish image books with dedicated topics; because you can see topics, frame them... once again: I am impressed by your skills!

Reading your comment is a great way to continue the day full of motivation.

Thank you very much for your attention and support.

Given the specificity of the community, monochromatic (lack of color), I chose not to include my banner zone. I will return in the next posts.

Wow!... amazing minimalist stuff here @cryptoreforma friend!

I loved this photo especially because of his street character and the precise way in which the horizontal lines "conspire" in a square frame to create a harmonious and eloquent vision!... A complete art!

Thank you very much for your words.

The result of walking a lot in inhospitable places is, often, finding these perfect scenarios. They already exist, they are already there, all that is missing is the click.
