“Listening” [ENG-PT/BR]

Last Tuesday saw the inauguration of the mural entitled “Ouvir” (EN: “Listening”) by Daniela Guerreiro, curated and produced by Mistaker Maker. It is located on the façade of the Norton de Matos EB1 School in Coimbra - Portugal.

This mural symbolizes adults being present and actively listening to children and young people, with empathy and without judgement. The educational and professional context present in a school gives emphasis to this work.

Understanding and emotional support are important for promoting mental health in school communities. The mural is part of the #EU4Health project, run in Portugal by the Cruz Vermelha (EN: Red Cross), with the aim of strengthening European health systems - thus improving the health of the Portuguese population.

The main initiative of this European project is training in Psychological First Aid, providing assistance to people in emotional distress.

Foi inaugurado na passada terça-feira o mural intitulado “Ouvir” da autoria de Daniela Guerreiro, com curadoria e produção da Mistaker Maker. Está situado na fachada da Escola EB1 do Norton de Matos, em Coimbra - Portugal.

Este mural simboliza o estar presente e a escuta activa, por parte dos adultos em relação às crianças e jovens, com empatia e sem julgamentos. O contexto educativo e profissional presente numa escola dá ênfase a esta obra.

A compreensão e o apoio emocional são importantes para a promoção da saúde mental junto das comunidades escolares. O mural surge no âmbito do projeto #EU4Health, dirigido em Portugal pela Cruz Vermelha, com o objetivo de fortalecer os sistemas de saude europeus - melhorando, assim, a saúde da população portuguesa.

A principal iniciativa deste projeto europeu é a capacitação em Primeiros Socorros Psicológicos, prestando assistência a pessoas em situação de sofrimento emocional.
Bragança, Lagos e Lisboa são outras das cidades onde estão a serem feitos murais com o mesmo propósito deste.
