Beer factory - street art [ENG-PT/BR]

Following my street art exhibition last September in Faro, I would now like to share 10 graffiti pieces that are located in the courtyard of an iconic building known as the Beer Factory. It is located in the Old Town of Faro, next to the city walls and part of the old castle.

The building was constructed between 1930 and 1940, but it was only between 1968 and 1992 that it was occupied by the company Cervisul (a beer and wine distributor in the south). Interestingly, it was never a factory, although the name remains to this day. It then served the Ministry of Defense with the occupation of the Southern Infantry Regiment until 1999, when it was purchased by the municipality of Faro.

Today it is a space for creation, a meeting place for cultural and social agents who promote cultural exhibitions and shows. There are plans to renovate the building to serve more and better.

Fábrica da Cerveja - arte de rua

Na sequência da minha mostra de arte de rua recolhida no passado mês de Setembro em Faro, venho desta vez partilhar 10 graffitis que estão no mesmo pátio de um edifício icónico conhecido como fábrica de cerveja. Situado na Cidade Velha de Faro, junto das muralhas e numa parte do antigo castelo.
O edifício foi construído entre 1930 e 1940 mas só entre 1968 e 1992 foi ocupado pela empresa Cervisul (sociedade distribuidora de cerveja e vinhos do sul). Curiosamente nunca foi uma fábrica, embora o nome ainda se mantém até hoje. Depois serviu o Ministério da Defesa com a ocupação do Regimento de Infantaria do Sul até 1999, quando foi comprada pela autarquia de Faro.
Hoje é um espaço de criação, encontro de agentes culturais e sociais que promovem exibições e espectáculos culturais. Há projectos para reabilitar o edifício para servir mais e melhor.

Neste naipe de interessantes obras estão dois vultos da cultura portuguesa. Em cima, o cantor e compositor Zeca Afonso (1929-1987, viveu em Coimbra e em Faro). Em baixo, o poeta - Fernando Pessoa (1888-1935).
