From Bad to Better, Quality of Life Changes

Greetings everyone and welcome to another GU blog post. This one is a bit of a pick apart of some thoughts about shine and forging and what has improved (and what needs improving), along with a bit of a thought process on why I am even shining up cards in the first place. I swear it's not just jank madness, there is a method in there.

The Good: Your collection can now be refreshed in client without having to close and open it again so you can do a forging session in it's entirety without having to close the Gu client (this is bigger than it sounds). They also streamlined animations and the minting process to take less time than before.

What could use improving: It still takes many clicks to shine up your cards (unavoidable at this point I suppose), but still is rather inconvenient. Not the most massive downside overall. It also would be cool if they allowed players to equip lower shines for purely aesthetic purposes for cards they have already shined up to at least that rarity (some things look better purple, or gold, etc. than diamond and visa versa).

Shine traded for Power level: Finding Balance

I ended up trading out a few things to have the deck be shinier at the expense of certain BiS cards being slotted out (where possible). This week has consisted of me finding a balance and figuring out what can be shined up cheaply. I will likely have to fuse meteorites together numerous times in the future here, but in the long term forging cards I ALWAYS play with doesn't seem like a bad idea. This does give me diamond deck thoughts, but I need to focus on a full playset first. I'm still missing a lot of basic stuff from genesis that are deck standards in both control, midrange, and combo (my favorite archtypes). I want at least 2 shadow decks to play/climb with to keep my sanity while earning an increased tick of $GODS, I will eventually find a good balance here.

Core Packs, I CAN'T GET ENOUGH!!!

I have opened hundreds of core packs and experienced many pack bugs, but I can't get enough of forging shadow core cards. I use so many core cards in so many of my decks and it is very affordable to shine them up. If it's anything I use regularly it feels very worthy even if the percentage it effects my $GODS earned per day isn't noticed individually at that shine. I'm addicted to the improved aesthetic it gives to my atlantean cards to the point I want to fully shine them up as a maxi. However atm I'm only putting some p2e scrapings aside for shining up stuff, any bigger moves will be to move towards a full playet. But 50 cent shadows? Fuck yeah.

Recent Happenings and Ladder Thoughts

A week or so ago I got bumped from mythic to ED and with the holiday craziness and various IRL matters that need attending I haven't been dropping time into GU like I have been (temporarily though I will be getting back into the thick of it when things settle down a bit, I still need to bump back to mythic on a slow afternoon). I'm thinking of shining up both a "fast" and a "good" deck overtime that I enjoy playing. I'm excited, I like the way the atlanteans look in shadow. Some things look better in gold, I actually don't fancy the diamond look all that much (price aside). There are many cards that don't look very good or color clash at certain shines, but that's incredibly nit picky and I honestly just want more in game currency for playing the cards I like. It's an always fun journey.

Thanks for stopping by everyone! This is just me parsing through some thoughts on spending an hour or so forging things and my experience altering my deck composition for better yield at a better shine. Don't forget to follow, like, or whatever else you might (optionally) want to do to support me! It's always appreciated. You all rock. Until next time, see you folks in Eucos.

I hope they find a way on this one, it would be nice if they do.
