Jammy you will be missed at Gods Unchained

Greeting everyone and welcome to a Gods Unchained post, I know it's been a while. Was going through a bit of a funk but I'm over it, truly. As some of you are aware Jammy was the lead game designer and the glue that was holding the project together at various levels behind the scenes. You may also be aware that Jammy has resigned at Gods Unchained and found work for other companies and projects. His presence and general interaction and communication with the community will be missed. He held it down and ate a bunch of shit that really should've been directed at the immutable admins above him for years. Gods Unchained and immutable was lucky to have him. This doesn't mean Gods Unchained is dying, or the sky is falling, or any of that. It does mean GU's playerbase should starkly lower their expectations going forward.

What is GU going forward? Who's at the wheel?

GU going forward is likely to be almost entirely AI generated and designed by a couple designers from the community (I know who they are but have promised not to say as it was told in confidence, you can likely guess who they are without too much difficulty either). I would not expect there to be any "grand sets or out of the box mechanics" going forward. I would not expect modes. I would not expect staking. I would not expect anything aside from the lights being kept on. So plenty of battlepasses, maybe the occasional miniset. However the possibility of much else is very low given that the majority of work done at this point is accomplished with AI. This isn't a knock on the new designers, it's moreso a knock on immutable for cutting all the corners possible to lead us to this point in the first place. They are doing a decent job considering the resources they are given (which isn't very much).

I'll keep playing, but listen

I'm going to keep playing gods unchained, but don't take that as some sort of gung ho endorsement of the product. It's a game I still find fun enough, and I enjoy hanging out with all of you on stream. That's all there is to it. I don't think this game will change web3, revolutionize anything, or go to the top of the charts under it's current trajectory. My current GU playthroughs are summmarized in this gif

don't get it twisted. I know where this ship is headed and the best we can hope for going forward is life support, which is at least not outright expiring. The "glory days" are behind us, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy a few hands of cards nowadays either. This is mostly just a realistic perspective on the tract going forward.
