Exemplars are exemplary! Interesting/unique update

Greetings everyone and welcome to another Splinterlands post. This week I'm talking Exemplars and they are beyond exemplary. This new update brings customized avatars and customizable Exemplars (cards that act as your scion in the Splinterlands and their art and stats are what you make them). This update is pretty cool and adds additional layers of role-playing and complexity to Splinterlands. You get to make an avatar and the card to match, it's all pretty cool and ideally is the harbinger of things to come. Perhaps we will see the exemplars appear in upcoming campaign sagas or unique mission storylines.

It's also a card: Underpowered but what you make it

The card is not the strongest stat line in the world, but it appears they will have it have the ability to get leveled up farther in the future. It could be monstrous but not OP, maybe something juicy for 99 mana matchups. You can have this card be exactly what you want, the attack type, speed, armor, HP, everything. I chose a magic unit with 1 armor and low speed, even with lowish stats it has a very high mana cost. However if there is no cap on skill points you in theory can have a massive unit for those 99 mana matchups. It will be interesting in competitive play but just not right away. It will take some time for people to level up so it likely won't be that much of a game changer for a while. And by high mana I mean rather "bad" of a mana cost for the stats offered compared to most modern cards, but this card is available to ALL users and can improve overtime. It's an interesting mechanic and I can't wait to see where it goes. Will there be a maximum on stat points? How will we be getting more, glints? It's all fresh and I can't wait to see where it goes?

Profiles pictures are bigger than you think

Profile pictures and their customizable aspects are bigger than you think in video games. People like to make their character and customize it the way they want, this is very apparent in almost every videogame you can play these days with even the smallest of role playing elements, and I'm glad splinterlands now has an accessible one. Well done team! It's a basic update but one that makes the gamification more immersive and picks up the games standards to be closer to those of the overall industry. Kudos!

Talking Tidbits: About Damn Time!

Honestly it's about damn time they had customizable profile pictures available for everyone! It's an easy way to may a few extra bucks and also give the player base a sense of individuality and customization. This feature had been sorely lacking to the general playerbase, all that we had was the Runi which you had to buy a "lucky fit" of random attributes you liked and use them. Not EVERYONE can pick what they want and likely be able to get more seasonal aesthetics as Splinterlands develops. Overall this is a very good update that most gamers will appreciate. Myself included.

Thanks for liking, looking at, hell just even not vomiting on your screen after reading this. You all are what make HIVE a blast to post on. I like that the game isn't fully dead and still has some life in it on twitch, on HIVE, heck everywhere. I'll be seeing you folks in a Splinterlands stream soon. We'll have to talk about these new updates and how it's going.
