Battlepass: Completed

Greetings everyone and welcome to another Gods unchained post. In this post I will be talking about the Season 5 Battlepass in Gods Unchained, my various milestones and takeaways, and where I see the Battlepass in GU continuing going forward. I completed this battlepass, and yes I purchased the whale track. The Atlantean aesthetics are well done and something I will likely use indefinitely for mage. However I will be switching over to death once the forge is back, mage won't be having good design direction going forward. And likely never will/has. When I played atlanteans before tides of fate I disliked the mage shell the most. Most limiting removals, buffs etc. it just has the most atlantean bodies but hey it's about time for the fun shit not the most numerically populated shit. More on that in another post.

The eye candy: Atlantean Items and Emotes

The eye candy is honestly pretty damn solid. The eye candy is very atlantean. I was happy with the lot bag acquired. The god portrait is good but sortof looks a bit warped in game (ez fix eventually not too worried about it, dwarf atlant elyrian still rocks lol). The emotes themselves are fun, the francesca emote in particular is very welcome. I know various players of both genders that enjoy the "cheeky francesca emote" as it's often referred. The elyrian emote is a classic for those who aren't even atlantean fans. The carback is nice, the undersea look of it fits the "fallen sartonians" nicely. I hope to see more of a "Classic Sartonia" looking card back at some point. White marble yada yada yada yada. This current crop of atlantean trinkets and aesthetics are nice and the main reason I got the battlepass. Well no that's not true, I actually really wanted the exclusive card in diamond also.

The gameplay effecting loot: Shattered Atlantean

This card is objectively a good neutral for anyone who needs to forsee in their deck. The statline is fine for 3 mana and forsee is a beneficial effect for almost every deck I can think of. There will be decks where you can slot it out for a stronger card, but this card is a decent diamond filler in almost any domain I try to play with atlants. This card is a very good card, but many cards in this meta have a more direct synergistic effect with the cards being played so you may not see a lot of this guy. He's not weak, just doesn't lean particularly towards strengthening any deck outside of aggro atlanteans or atlant spell mage (the archetype with a popularity level so low it's not really worth mentioning). Decent slot in for all other decks. Honestly a strong BP card overall compared to previous battlepasses.

Talking Tidbits: They fucking got me, I needed it

This battlepass definitely involuntarily opened my wallet and purchased itself. Figuratively, obviously. But still, it was marketed towards Atlantean fans and it did a good job of doing so. As probably one of the 4 atlantean players before tides of fate it really is appreciated to finally rock sartonian swag in every slot. I just hope we see some Atlanteans for some other domains here. Nature and it's focus on the timmy wincon of a pumped up echophon, light atlanteans that synergize with the stunted "overheal" archtype (not that BoTC cancer), maybe even some death atlanteans will show up? who knows? Death has so many busted tribes they might as well add one more.
