Why Would Anyone Play The Lottery When There Is Crypto?

Chasing The Dream
Last night someone won the R124 million Powerball jackpot in South Africa and was probably why I noticed a longer queue than normal at the lottery counter due to the roll overs. This got me thinking as I am not tempted in the slightest to go and purchase a ticket because the odds are not stacked in your favor. It is true you have to be in in to win it and good luck to those who are chasing their dreams as you are going to need it.
Many many years ago whilst living in the UK I used to play 10 lines on each draw twice per week and I kept using the same number combinations. I never lost money over the two or so years and even had a 5 number ticket which was more of a disappointment for what it paid out. At the time it was just a little short of 2K GBP so definitely not life changing.
It was around this time I stopped playing the lottery and have not purchased a ticket in over 20 years. Even with increased jackpots like last night I am not bothered and would rather keep my cash in my pocket. I think these days I am content with what my financial future holds and crypto is playing a major part in this thinking.

The odds are definitely not in your favor and reminds me of the first Irish lottery back in the 1990's when a group of friends invested enough to purchase every combination guaranteeing a winning ticket. The problem is they never kept quiet and the number of numbers increased foiling anyone else considering doing a similar tactic.
If those people who are so desperate for financial freedom had been buying crypto weekly instead of lottery tickets over the last 10 years I think they would be thinking along similar lines. When you know you can almost guarantee your future by investing carefully and allowing the time to do it's magic.
I do believe through consistency and hard work one can change their financial future within two crypto cycles and at a worse case scenario definitely 3. That is 12 years and no wishful thinking hitting it big with a lottery ticket that may or may not happen. 20 million to one odds is not something I would like to gamble my future on and would want something more concrete than a very remote possibility.
Crypto is so much fun and over the years I have turned it into a game with personal challenges and goals which I have set. The aim is simple and that is after two 4 years cycles is to have a portfolio of $1 million. The first cycle did not really count in my case as this was more of the learning period given to understand how crypto cycles work. This means that I am half way once this cycle is completed and there is still a possibility that the $1 million goal could be achieved depending on how the markets perform at the end of this cycle. The goal will be achieved within the next 4 years if it is not achieved this cycle and I am 100% certain of this.
The knowledge most of us possess now after being involved in crypto is what is going to unlock the wealth and this is not something you can learn by not being involved. Don't get me wrong as investing in crypto is a risk and the knowledge we have helps reduce that risk so nothing is ever guaranteed so only invest what you can afford to lose. My crypto portfolio is already over $60K and alt season has not even started so any number is possible what this will be worth come the end of November.

when crypto joins anything that becomes precious
I learned that lotteries just buys a temporary dream and that's it.
My crypto portfolio is now almost worth $50k USD with very little funds invested. Knowledge is everything when it comes to crypto. This only part of my investment portfolio.
Having many types of investments is a must do and why I own multiple properties as well. You are correct crypto is all about knowledge.
It's just like that, times have changed. After we understand crypto, we can definitely double our money by investing in it. So it's better to invest in something authentic than lottery schemes. And we know that cycles change, so we have to learn first.
