The Hunt Continues

The hunt continues to find a decent fork lift at the right price and tonight I am hoping the search is over. The only snag I had was that this one above was advertised on Face Book Market Place and I am not a member of Face Book and never have been. I had to forward the advert to my son who contacted the seller who has been instructed to phone myself.

What caught my eye was the condition of the fork lift and it looks as though it has been taken good care of. This is not a reconditioned refurbished fork lift that has just had a paint job which is what I felt of the last one I looked at. A paint job is just a paint job and does not add the price value the seller was asking. That forklift was more than double the price of this one and this model is a 3.5 ton compared to 2.5 tons.

The thinking is as a worse case scenario this particular model needs any mechanical work which i do not think is the case I would still have the budget to fix whatever this model requires. I just get a good feeling about this as the photographs do show this has been well maintained and that is vitally important.

With the local economy being depressed there will be bargains to be found as I never thought I could find a 3.5 ton Fork Lift for this price as they would in normal circumstances be 4 x this price. I don't often get excited about things, but this would be my new toy as I am buying this for the business and is a wonderful asset to have.

This week we have 3 x 40ft weight containers arriving which is a real pig of a job that is taking far too long to off load each one. Having a more powerful fork lift will save us hours of hired labor which at the end of the day is money in the pocket. This should save hours of work and time is money.

Our current fork lift is a rental and an over priced one at that costing R13K monthly so this would be paid off within 4 months if we continue renting. A R13K monthly saving is a big chunk of change when it comes to our monthly budget and why this needs to happen quickly.

This is crazy to think even if I bought this and rented this model out I could pay this off within 5 months and everything after that would be profit. Maybe there is something in this and a good business opportunity, but this will be our fork lift and not for renting. I may buy another one if this goes well and will wait and see, but the figures are spinning in my brain right now as this is actually decent money. Most businesses do not break even on investments and into profit within the first year and being under 6 months this is very good. Doubling your ROI each year sounds like a good deal and why this cannot be ignored.
