Reaching Out Asking The Big Boss For Help Has Never Failed Me Yet

This morning I received a phone call from the insurance company which has at least given me hope things will be rectified quickly. This lady was a manager of the "special" team that reports directly to the CEO. I think this is normal and common sense to have a team working directly under who is in charge because their job would be to put out fires. In any big organsiation you need a selected few you can trust who will handle any issues that might arise and they often do.

The response time I have to admit was not exactly what I had expected as this took them 8 days to pick up the phone. I had given them until the end of business today before I would seek outside help and take it up legally. They did not know this time line so this is actually a positive move on their part.

There was one thing to clarify regarding the addresses because there are 3 of them and I only verified one where I physically live. The bank is a UK bank which I use my mothers details for this for all correspondence because living in South Africa getting mail is not guaranteed. This now made sense and I said all it would take is one phone call asking the right questions to which she agreed. After about 20 minutes of explaining where and how things had gone wrong mainly to one manager who I would say is out of her depth and possibly has been placed in this role not for her work skills. My thoughts are my thoughts however and I never related those exactly and they would have to be blind not to see this.

Sometimes you have to be pro active if you need to achieve thigs and sitting back expecting things to happen often don't pan out as planned. Writing multiple letters ad phoning regularly being sincere and never being rude once was challenging, but this is how it was needed to be done.

What is next is I expect to receive the payment some time next week and I can finally get on to ordering the solar system kit and sorting out the overseas trip. That will be delayed slightly again as we have all the visas required, but now a family member needs an operation on their gall bladder which will happen next week. One just has to laugh these things off as if it is not one problem it is another, but that is life I guess and you just have to go with the flow. The planned departure date is now looking more like the 28th June which is 4 months later than what was the original plan.

Wow you been through a lot bro, but your persistence paid off. Hoping the payment arrives soon so you can move forward with your plans. I'm wishing your family member a speedy recovery too bro

Sometimes commercial relations go sideways and what we can do is invoke the law on our side if things don't move in the right direction. I am struggling with a commercial issue as well, the company promised two times until now that they will fix the problem but I still got no sign from them... next week I will give them an ultimatum and if they don't do it will go through the legal pathway. We have the power in the end, but we need to use it with people that simply don't keep their word.

Did you speak to who owns the company or who is in charge?

Yes, the owner of the company and he promised to do the repairs. I guess his word doesn't mean much even if he speaks that he aims perfection at his work. Words in vain, I hope I get it sorted and never see him again.

Indeed. If it is not one thing, then it is another.

Life seems to like to throw hurdles at my family and I and in a family of 5 there always seems to be something going on. It never ends.

We STILL have an unresolved insurance claim for Claire. It has gone to the ombudsman. They have done follow-up investigations. Still nothing.

It seems like "delay" is a common tactic these days when companies need to pay out for anything. I sometimes wonder how many people eventually give up pursing things after a long while, allowing the companies to keep their money. It's really bad to pay for insurance or other service and then have to fight for the promised benefit when it comes time to pay out. So annoying !

Yes it is morally wrong on all levels and hopefully this will be sorted this week.
