One Last Desperate Attempt

source

Yesterday evening I received a phone call from the insurance company who are due to pay out on my endowment policy. Over the last few months I have jumped through every hoop they have thrown at me and it has been so obvious that these have all been delay tactics. Yesterdays phone call confirmed my thoughts because again it made no logical sense.

The lady phoning had a strong Indian ascent so I kindly asked her to verify who she was by giving me some information about my account. She then asked me to verify who I was so this phone call was getting off on the right foot.

This phone call was all about my physical home address which I verified with verified utility bills around 3 weeks ago. Now what threw me next left me flabbergasted as she said their system had another address and would I like to change this. I asked he what the repercussions were if that happened and she then said a letter would be required to confirm this change.

I was not born yesterday and could see where this was heading so I said no please keep the other address on file because this should be the very last time I hear from this company. If I had agreed to the change that would be another 3 weeks wasted again before payment is processed.

The question I never asked was what was the point of verifying my address the last time around if they had never updated their system? This had to have been another time wasting tactic which was part of their delay tactics.

These insurance companies have no morals and it is easy to see the game they are playing which is not right in my book. You have been a client paying in for 25 years and it takes you 3 months or actually maybe longer in this case to verify who you are for them to reluctantly pay what is owing to you.

Sadly for them he 10 day payment process should have started today unless I am informed in 10 days time there is another problem. I realise I am not out of the woods yet because they may turn around saying they need both addresses matching and then I will have no choice yet again to appease them.

The processing is the problem because once submitted they review the documents and if there are any changes required they wait until the 21 days is up and by the time it starts again 1 month has passed again. The time I am paid after all the delays it will be around the 4 month mark which is utter nonsense not taking into account how many times I have paid for couriers which is standing at a count of 6 already.

When you follow their instructions precisely and still they want more items each time it does start to get a bit much especially when it is down to their negligence and not yours. Updating their own records through verified documents is on them and not for myself to send in more. There is no common sense or service left in this world and the standard of staff being employed leaves a lot to be desired.

All I know is I will ever ever use AVIVA UK for another insurance or bond related item ever again and that is rather pleasing to know. They have no morals and the staff need to be replaced by competent normal people.

My wife has been waiting for months now for her life insurance to pay something to her based on her condition of being disabled from regular work after her knee injury.

Doctor's visits, MRI's, specialists, examinations and contacting the ombudsman and still we wait. I do not know what else we can do except keep pushing.

Wow ! That's another crazy thing.

I always say, first we pay for insurance, then we have to beg them to payout when we needed them, no matter that it is very rarely.

I guess if anything went easy these days, we'd be in shock !
