The Battle Is Finally Over

Finally some good news with the insurance company phoning this morning saying they have transferred the funds owing from the endowment policy. Not only that there is a second payment following this of another 6K GBP for the interest owing. That second payment I was not expecting and is just a little sweetener for the fight it took to get paid.

This battle has been ongoing since February so when the payment finally reflects in the account it would have taken 1 week short of 5 months. Not good really if you think of it as money owed to you and the fight it has taken to get paid what is rightfully yours.

The progress since I got the CEO involved has helped as it would have been 15 days in total since she was involved. I do think I would still be fighting if I had not of reached out and see this as a good result.

The lady who I have been dealing with did mention that overseas payments do take slightly longer due to security checks. I mentioned I appreciate the security checks, but when someone who is clearly who they are and has proved this over and over again then surely they should be able to tell someone who is genuinely who they say they are.

If we consider they say they have teams working on this process then either the teams need to be upgraded with better personnel or the system they are using is not working. The good thig is I am being given the final report of their findings and have asked to be included to highlight where they have or are going wrong. She was not expecting this response and actually said it was refreshing to hear.

Yes I am pissed it has taken 5 months to get paid, but what is the point if they will repeat this process with heir other clients. They as a company need to do better or they have learned absolutely nothing and why I am adamant they must include me on the report. Certain staff members messed up and either they need to be retrained or let go or moved to somewhere else where they have no authority. I did mention names today as I know these phone calls are recorded because this is a way of fixing their staff problems.

Next week when the payments reflect I will be moving forward with booking our European trip which the interest will cover most of or a high percentage anyway. Solar can now be installed when we get back which will make this time line around mid July to be fully off the grid. Far later than originally planned, but the main thing is we will get there in the end.

The fists 6 months of this year has been a rough period fighting all the way just to get things done which if I am being honest I never expected. This did not have to be so tough if people were just doing their jobs and it is that simple.
