The reality is if a scammer succeeds there is no reason for him/her to stop. Communities need to be more proactive in shutting down these scams immediately.
Please don't fall for these scams and if you are not sure ask first before clicking on any links. The sad reality is many will have fallen for this because they do not keep up to date with their investment and not knowing the difference between what is fake and real.
This is a sign of the times we live in being involved in crypto with many chasing low hanging fruit that is used as bait to take whatever stake you have. This scam I was actually quite impressed with because it was so well done and seriously highlights the efforts that these scammers are going to because this was so well thought out.
The COTI airdrop is not like other airdrops and the benefit is having stake with an ever increasing APR over the next 12 months followed by a boost at the end depending on your activity over that 12 month period. There will also be an early swap bonus moving your COTI tokens into the COTI V2 tokens which should also be very profitable.
COTI never saw many scams and the hype and news around the new technology has definitely bought it wanted and unwanted attention in the crypto space. I mentioned in a post earlier this week how the COTI discord community has scammers all over the place and if any information is required to wait for a moderator to reply first before doing anything. Again if you are not sure ask people you know and I am always willing and available to answer any questions so please hit me up first and If I do not know I will find out.
This latest scam offering an early bonus airdrop reward had me thinking what had I missed and I know I am up to date on all news and why it did not add up and knew something was wrong. I would feel ill if I lost my stake through stupidity because I know how long it takes to grow and it would mean this 4 year cycle is a write off and need to start again.
One of the COTI team developers who is well known within the community had his Twitter (X) account hacked which kind of gave the scam a sense of being legitimate. Unfortunately this will be the first of many and whoever is behind this is actually smart because obviously people are falling for this. If no one was caught out then these scammers would move on looking for other communities so it is important to stay vigilant and warn others.

This happened to me once too, I clicked on the wrong link and had some NFTs in my Metamask and it was immediately taken out by someone. This way never clicks on the link.
