From 0 to $1 Million
Those that follow me know I set myself a challenge a few years ago at the end of the last crypto cycle when I saw the dollar values appearing in my portfolio. I think it is natural that seeing hundreds of thousands of dollars will definitely change how you see crypto and it made a lasting impression on myself so much so I challenged myself to achieve a $1 million value within 8 years or two complete crypto cycles starting from a $0 investment. This to me is a cool HIVE story that could be marketable to help onboard new users showing what is possible with HIVE. HIVE needs a story that others can relate to and one that is true.
I was asked about this today by a family member attending my grandsons birthday party and their eyes were as wide as saucers. I got the please teach me speech which is easier said than done as this is all about your mindset and not about greed. I do think if one is greedy then they will never reach the goal because enjoyment whilst doing the challenge is in some ways far more rewarding than the monetary dollar value.
Those that are not in crypto would say that this is impossible and I am going to prove them all wrong. The first cycle finished with my portfolio having a balance of $250K with the only difference no crypto was sold and that valuation soon disappeared when the bear market hit removing more than 90% of that value. This was planned as it was more about seeing the entire cycle through and learning taking on board exactly what happens. These are lessons you cannot buy and what will help myself unlock and achieve the $0 to $1 million challenge.
I do not see this as a huge challenge any more considering I have been on he go non sop for over 7 years and now in the home stretch of the second crypto cycle. I say there is no pressure as if it is not achieved during this cycle then it will be in the next crypto cycle and the that target should be surpassed fairly comfortably. When you understand how to grow and accumulate your bags trough being consistent any target is achievable as long as you are realistic over the time period set.
If one considers HIVE as a prime example if one had 200K HIVE stake and IVE reaches a $5 price the there is $1 million already achieved. The problem is to sell and hold ono hat value and to buy back in whilst still keeping as close to $1 million for the next cycle. I would say difficult, but not impossible and definitely worth giving it a go even if you get 80% of the valuation. No one knows what the prices will do and why it may need one more cycle. This is not about reaching $1 million and you are out scenario and more about kicking on with a rinse and repeat next time around.
HIVE is not an investment that is going to be sold and has never been in my mindset for what it offers as the stake is too valuable for what it offers to others in the community. The stake has been grown through the support of the community and even though it is in my name I see it as community owned. Maybe I think differently because I have never required crypto to use in real life so yes I understand the value, but have never needed the funds. I told you I am different and hopefully in a good way because the heart is in the right place. The difference to many of you is I have never invested dollars into HIVE and why I see this investment as being totally different. This I would say is more about a passive income stream and not about the overall wallet value. I see this as far more value for what it offers than the dollar value if that makes any sense.
The other crypto in my portfolio is thought of very differently and that is for sale even though it will most likely be treated exactly the same way at the end of this cycle. Selling high and buying back lower and who knows this portfolio could be the one that makes the $1 million within one cycle excluding HIVE altogether. This is a wait and see as the research undertaken in those investments should pay off handsomely. This is probably why I am comfortable (not cocky) with this target as I do believe the $1 million will be smashed this cycle.

would be tough to sell all at 5 dollars cuz of the unstaking period? definitely not impossible for the 1 million :D lets hope u get it. even i hope i get 1 million if sps is like 3 bucks xd
The thing is, hive value fluctuates too much. To be conservative when computing the value of my hive, I wouldn't value it at 5usd.
Not now, but in 4 or 5 years from now it could be far higher than $5. 2021 it reached $3.41 and it will reach that figure again.
A nice way to think about the hive community. I have to be honest, right now, I am heavily dependent on hive for my retirement, not that it will happen sooner.
This. I am amazed how your accounts is so huge and not a single dollar was invested? Kudos to you. I'm also seeing hive, specifically hbd, as a passive income stream in the future. Hopefully things will go well.
So you were able to accumulate 200k hive just by posting?
Not quite on 153K HIVE currently as that number was an example. I will achieve 200K via posting , curation and the APR.
Non crypto people will always say it's impossible unless they have a basic understanding of the process behind it. I think it's definitely doable on a realistic timeframe and a consistently refined process. I hope you'll achieve it sooner than you anticipate.
