ETA Another 10 days

Now the production space looks much better and looks far more appealing and professional. The racking will be empty later this week or next week and will be where the competed punch bags will be stored. I am now shopping around for a hopper type stand that will store the river sand and will be easier to decant from. The other item required is an industrial scale so the bags can be weighed correctly. We have one already, but the other part of the warehouse business uses this so I now need a second one. Small expenses that will just make things flow easier. I have spent a bit already, but that number is still well under $10K and shows you do not need a huge amount of money to get a business up and running from scratch.

Today I had a frank conversation with the textile waste supplier as last week he told me the order would be another 5 days. Tomorrow that would be 7 days if you include the weekends and I was expecting delivery this week. I asked him to be honest with me so I can plan ahead. He told me another 10 days or so and it will be delivered and was not exactly the answer I was looking for, but pleased he told me without sugar coating it.

I have not told my daughter the ETA as she would just stress and there is no alternative solution. Waiting is fine for now as we are still running a production line with the other textile waste. You don't ever stress over things you cannot control.

This is a far cry from what I was told originally being that they process 1 ton per day. Just some basic figure work in the head tells me they process roughly 300Kg's per day at this present time. I know they have months busier than others so maybe at the peak season whenever that may be they do achieve 1 ton per day.

Still the numbers are good and suit my requirements without having to worry about receiving 32 tons in one hit stressing over storage space. Them sending me 10 tons once a month until the numbers pick up covers my production needs with a ton or so left over.

I find it funny how people like to embellish and exaggerate their numbers until you call them on it and then they back track. There is no need to brag and they should be proud of the business they have built because there is no one around like them and makes them kind of unique. I would have found any other company doing what they are doing and there are none in South Africa who come even close to what they have. When you spend the time I have searching which is months and months you know who is doing what.

If I had to put a number on the amount of time I have spent searching for the entire warehouse business from trucking companies to textile waste material it must be 10-11 months in total. The number of interviews with prospected service clients must be more than 100, but the result is what counts. The time and effort taken has paid off and why the business is flourishing.

This is something I have never had to do before, but somehow knew it was the only way the business would be profitable due to the crazy prices being quoted never made financial sense. The value is in the time taken finding the right people your business can work with. The profit is always made when you buy and not when you sell and the service providers I have partnered with create the profit. If anyone is thinking about doing their own business make sure you buy correctly and let the money spent work for you. This was not lucky as the time behind the scenes removes any luck.
