A Total Disgrace

source

I am sure many of you have seen the reports on social media regarding the trans gender boxer from Algeria. The International Olympics committee will not even admit he/she is a trans gender sticking to the story he is a female. They then say once you start testing for gender it is no good for anyone and I disagree with this particular statement. No good for the questionable athletes, but not for the genuine females competing. This cheapens the sport by robbing dreams of individuals that have been working their entire life to achieve.

There are two male boxers competing as females in this Olympics and you would have to be a complete numpty to not see this.

Both of these boxers who are now fighting as females were barred from the World Championships last year for the reason of being male. The Olympic Committee says this is complicated and don't see how this is complicated. You are either a man or a woman and where s this complicated?

source

The Olympics goes by what your passport says and do not do gender tests when clearly they should. Why is it no female is crossing over into fighting men and it is only the other way around. If you
have gone through puberty as a male and the switch over you have an unfair advantage that is if you have switched over completely which in these cases has clearly not happened.

source

The argument is these two were born female ad had the XY chromosome from birth. Explain then why one can clearly see an Adams Apple o this "female" and you have to be blind/woke to look past this.

source

The International Boxing Association released a statement yesterday stating these two boxers are not allowed to compete in women's boxing. They have a clear advantage over everyone else and the safety for other boxers is now being jeopardized.

The Italian boxer who quit after just 46 seconds of her fight said she had never bee hit so hard in her life. She was hit twice in the face with one punch breaking her nose.

source

Just because your passport says you are a female and you wear lipstick does not make you a female. I know who I would back if a well built male was going up against a female in a boxing match as that is not an even contest and more worrying it is highly dangerous.

Thankfully some of the boxers have started to stand up and are refusing to fight them if they are paired during this event. This will probably and most likely see their medal hopes vanish, but a stand has to be made or this will just continue.

Paris olympics are just hilarious . But I still wonder is she a born woman or not ? I don’t care if she changed her gender but it is just unfair to compete when you have an obvious advantage like that .

Why will the Olympics just not do gender tests? If you are what you say you are then you have nothing to worry about. If he/she changed her gender after puberty he/she would be banned anyway. If you have a sex change or identify as the other sex the it should make no difference and just compete with whatever gender you were born with. Why is this complicated and will stop the cheating immediately. None of these would even contemplate fighting or competing against men.

Essentially, she was born female for all intents and purposes. This case is straightforward and similar to Caster Semenya’s situation. Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting were both assigned female at birth and likely have Swyer syndrome or a similar DSD (Differences of Sex Development).

If you saw their genitalia, it would appear female. They did not undergo surgery or transition; they were born this way and were raised as females until their 20s. Imane Khelif was around 21 or 22 when she took the test, and Lin Yu-ting was about 24 or 25. Details about the specific tests are not available.

I understand concerns about them competing with women due to potentially higher testosterone levels. A possible solution could be similar to what was done with Caster Semenya: requiring medication to lower testosterone levels and then allowing them to compete. Both Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-ting competed in the Tokyo Olympics and nobody had a problem. As far as I know neither of them even medaled.

Honestly, what saddens me is seeing people label them as transgender or men. Imagine being told you have a baby girl, raising her for over 20 years, and then discovering she has XY chromosomes. As a parent, would you start calling your daughter a man and judging her so harshly?

I understand this situation mainly because we saw what happened with Caster. How the Olympic Committee is treating this is wrong on both levels ad is unfair on these two individuals as well as the other competitors. I know Caster was not allowed to compete unless she reduced the testosterone levels in her body and the same should happen here. This is a rare condition and a solution needs to be found and they have had a good 5 years to sort this out which they have not.

I agree that a solution needs to be found, but I'm not sure what it is. Honestly, I’m not even clear on what Khelif and Yu-Ting actually failed.

Umar Kremlev came out and said they have XY chromosomes, but the IBA won’t make an official statement.

However, if you look at the board meeting notes that banned both of these boxers in 2023, they mention that the same complaint was raised in 2022 at the previous IBA Boxing World Championships. They were tested at that time, but the results came back only after the competition, so they weren’t banned. The notes also state that the results from the 2022 test were the same as those from the 2023 test. If the 2022 test showed that they had XY chromosomes, why were they even allowed to compete in 2023? That’s not something that would disappear.

I almost want to apologize for what I am about to say, but still, they have made a total shit show out of the olympics and so I am not watching any part of it or viewing videos or anything. There is no REAL way to justify it. Unfortunately, whoever is in charge of having the final say on all that, is not fit for the position. I'm so totally sick of things like this everywhere I turn.

It is sad though, for those valid athletes who have given so much to get where they are. This shouldn't be happening, but insanely it is.

Yes I am with you on this and feel very sorry for the athletes faced with this. They are being let down by the IOC and it will backfire when athletes refuse to compete.

the most common defense of the Algerian that I kind of agree with is that transgenderism and for the most part, even being gay, is not just frowned upon but illegal in that country. I can sympathize with the very manly Algerian woman because she is not trans attempting to get a leg up on the competition by changing genders... she has a medical affliction of some sort and is probably quite unhappy that it is being discussed on the world's stage like this. If having this affliction disqualifies her from competing than well, that needs to be in the rules. Otherwise, at least for her, she has done nothing wrong.
