A Big Few Months Lie Ahead

Tomorrow my textile waste sample is being collected and I have every confidence it is exactly the right type of waste material I have been looking for. This has take close to 3 months to resolve and I had very little understanding of what I was even looking for when starting out on this search. The learning curve has been high which is expected as this knowledge is required to make the best product possible.

3 months ago when I started to look I was told by one of the buyers that the textile waste is the hardest component to find and why there are not dozens of companies providing the supply of punching bags. The filling I was told is like hens teeth and why it is almost impossible to do. I was asked if I could take this project on and they would understand if it was not possible. Thankfully everyone believes this narrative and one I will gladly keep alive whilst supplying the market with whatever number they require.

I know of two previous companies that have since closed who tried to cut corners and were found out. The previous company used to wet the material in order to achieve the weight in the bag which obviously raises health concerns when mold grows and contaminates the bag. I have found bricks along with general waste in the bags before which had been imported from India.

If you do the homework the perseverance will pay off as there is always a solution in your target price bracket. The same perseverance I used when looking for a transport and logistical company that suited our needs. That was roughly a 200 phone call project which took months to find and even when you feel like giving up you have no choice, but to continue.

I am no different to everyone else except I have a skill in understanding the numbers knowing what the values or costs are when looking at a product. This has taken decades to master and lately has been put to the test even more due to greed and inflation. The majority of people have no clue what the real values are anymore and why inflation or price increases have been allowed to happen. Businesses are not what they used to be with many outsourcing services they could do themselves at half the price.

Back in 2004 I delved into the mobile/cell phone market and what was shocking was that every cell phone travels through about 10 different sets of hands or middle men and why the prices are so high. I blame the buyers of the big companies for not doing their work and using agents instead to do their work for them.

If you are going to be a specialist in any industry you need to understand the real costs of that particular product or you are no different from anyone else. The buyer who told me that textile waste is very difficult to obtain and has been in this industry for over 30 years. It is clear he has never taken the time to search or to do his homework because I have uncovered 1 million tons per month when I only require 5% or 50 tons worth.

People are generally lazy and if you are prepared to work you will definitely succeed and be successful. The punchbag business was a business I have bene looking at for a number of years now and the timing could not be more perfect. I have over the years watched many people fail basically handling the entire market into my hands.
