Honeystone DDH IPA
Honeystone, is a Double IPA with local Honey from Panos Farms which features loads of Mosaic and El Dorado hops. This beer is produced by a brewery called Transient Artisan Ales out of Bridgman, MI.
I have had a ton of their beers since they are one of the premier breweries out of Michigan that continues to push the envelope with their innovation and dedication to quality.
I picked Honeystone up at the local farmers market. I was drawn to the interesting honeycomb pattern on the can. I get credit to their marketing and graphic design teams because this beer stood out on the shelf and ultimately it was the label design that drew me in for the purchase.
I decided to crack it open last night after repairing some siding above my bay wind. As most home improvement jobs go it took longer and as I did the demolition I found more issues that had to be resolved. So the hour long takes turned into 4… I really did need a beer after all of that!
I was excited to try this one when I poured it I was impressed by the clean color, fragrant aroma and perfect head. I have to compliment my pouring skills on this one it photographed brilliantly.
The aroma was floral, slightly sweet and had a load of those piney hoppy notes. It was pretty dank from all the hops they added.
The flavor was clean, crisp, slightly sweet, but also bitter. I got a ton of the hop flavor with a little herbal tea flavor which I can only assume was from the honey. I love IPAs for the hoppy flavors so when the double dry hop those notes are amplified to another level. People who hate IPAs will really hate DDH IPAs.
The mouthfeel was light, with the medium carbonation level. I like my IPAs to be light, but like a lager so this was leaning slightly heavily than other IPAs. I also got a interesting mouth coating which was sweet and slightly sticky. It was a very pleasant beer to drink.
Overall, this beer was a solid showing from a brewery that has a bunch of hits. After all that work I was feeling much better with a little alcohol in me. All I can say now is that I was not feeling very sore last night, but this morning I sure do! I can’t wait to crack another beer open tonight to start off the long Memorial Day weekend.

That is a quite pretty lacy head on that beer! I remember having a honey infused beer a while ago. I think it was from a place up near Petoskey. I could be wrong though. I just remember it came in a big can and it had a wasp on the side of it. I likely wouldn't like this one if it is super hoppy.
I will have to think about that one. It sounds really familiar. This would not be your style because that honey is seeet but it leans way heavy on the hops.
Yeah, it doesn't sound like it.
It has actually been long I taste beer
I usually have a few a week.
Honeystone sounds like a nice beer. The name suggest its slightly sweet. I like it more hop flavor than sweet !
It's a great name and a delicious beer.
This drink looks so tasty. It is very special for those who drink it. Enjoy your drink.
