Luego de unas grandes festividades navideñas, de las cuales seguramente hablaré posteriormente, quiero compartir con todos ustedes las inquietudes que estamos viviendo aquí en Venezuela respecto a la situación que se vive en diferentes ámbitos como económico, social, y otros, de la manera en que se está presentando en este día.

En la madrugada de hoy empecé a recibir varias llamadas telefónicas para informarnos acerca de los sucesos que estaban aconteciendo. Desde ese mismo momento, el caos impera en nuestro país, porque la incertidumbre quiere tomar partido. Solo podíamos divisar bombardeos y oír cómo pasaban, muy abajo, los aviones de alta potencia que utilizaban mientras tomaban la Gran Caracas.

Los vecinos estaban consternados desde muy de madrugada; gritaban y había caos en sus hogares. Algunos tocaban ollas haciendo ruidos y se sumaban a la protesta, pero lo que lograban era molestar. Considero que no es la mejor manera de demostrar la angustia, pues cada quien la vive de una forma distinta y debemos aprender a respetar nuestras diferencias.

Estas informaciones, desde la madrugada del 3 de enero, han provocado un caos de compras compulsivas en los comercios. En cuanto a la gasolina, pudimos surtir el tanque de cada uno de nuestros familiares, pero no debemos desconocer las grandes colas.

También pude ver cómo repercutía en la parte económica: se necesitan bolívares para comprar comida, y se están haciendo ventas masivas de dólares, ya no al precio alto que querían imponer, sino al precio que la otra persona pueda pagar. Esto genera aún más temor, porque, aunque se tenga dinero, no se puede vender la divisa para luego comprar. Es ilógico adquirir algo con divisas aquí en Venezuela, debido al cambio económico que vivimos aquí.

Como si fuera poco, ahora se presentan cambios masivos en Binance, lo cual ha hecho que las operaciones no culminen exitosamente en el tiempo previsto, sino que tarden hasta 8 o 10 horas en hacerse efectivas.

Otra afectación es el libre tránsito: es decir el traslado de las personas de un lugar a otro, ya que han cerrado las carreteras e impiden el paso entre estados. Esto perjudica en gran manera, pues muchos de nuestros familiares se reunieron aquí en Valencia para recibir el fin de año juntos, y ahora les resulta muy difícil regresar a su lugar de origen, incluyendo a mi madre, que vive muy lejos.

Yo solo quiero darle gracias a Dios por toda la protección que nos está dando. Le pido que se manifieste su gloria dentro de nuestro país, que tome el control de nuestras emociones y nos permita levantarnos en paz, en amor y en confianza en Él. Ya sabíamos que esto era algo inevitable: una bomba de tiempo, una olla de presión, que simplemente nos tocó enfrentar en este día. Pero, si lo llevamos con madurez, equilibrio y templanza, podremos salir victoriosos de toda esta situación.

The neighbours were distraught from the early hours of the morning; they were shouting and there was chaos in their homes. Some banged pots and pans to make noise and joined in the protest, but all they achieved was to annoy people. I don't think this is the best way to show distress, as everyone experiences it differently and we must learn to respect our differences.

Since the early hours of 3 January, this information has caused chaos in the form of compulsive shopping in shops. As for petrol, we were able to fill up the tanks of all our relatives' cars, but we must not ignore the long queues.

I could also see how it was affecting the economy: bolivars are needed to buy food, and there are massive sales of dollars, no longer at the high price they wanted to impose, but at the price that the other person can pay. This generates even more fear because, even if you have money, you cannot sell the currency and then buy. It is illogical to buy something with foreign currency here in Venezuela, due to the economic change we are experiencing here.

As if that were not enough, there are now massive changes in Binance, which has meant that transactions are not completed successfully within the expected time frame, but take up to 8 or 10 hours to become effective.

Another impact is on free movement: that is, the movement of people from one place to another, as roads have been closed and passage between states is being prevented. This is very damaging, as many of our relatives gathered here in Valencia to celebrate the New Year together, and now it is very difficult for them to return to their places of origin, including my mother, who lives far away.

I just want to thank God for all the protection He is giving us. I ask Him to manifest His glory within our country, to take control of our emotions and allow us to rise up in peace, love and trust in Him. We already knew that this was inevitable: a time bomb, a pressure cooker, that we simply had to face on this day. But if we handle it with maturity, balance and temperance, we will be able to emerge victorious from this whole situation.
