I haven't really explored the world of anime movies, the lengths have always discouraged me--episode 250, hello?! However, I do have a thing to say about cartoons and anime since we are talking about it. First of all, they are both animations and that's not even a debate and I think we can all agree on that. That being said, given the context of this comparison, there is actually a clear difference between cartoons and anime movies.

The most glaring or rather distinct factor that makes both two different things is the target audience. Cartoons can be watched by kids, and even by adults and it's quite enjoyable, fun, and educative. It has proven to be very helpful towards kids' enthusiasm about learning new things. It sticks to their brains easily, they sing along and talk along with the characters. It's almost always childish, silly and comical at times, but it can surely be enjoyed by all ages.

Anime on the other hand is more targeted towards the older or mature audience. Most times, it is always very deep, sometimes dark, sometimes violent, and might also contain contents not meant for kids to see or watch. They usually have storyline that has to be carefully followed, and even adults struggle with understanding it at times. So, basically, all I am saying is that anime movies aren't really meant for kids. I an not generalizing though, I am sure there will be some that will be fit for all type of ages. As I said earlier, I am not very invested in anime movies, I simply don't have a great knowledge of it.

I also think anime movies usually go on for way too long and that's the first thing that puts me off about it. Cartoons are usually straight to the point. No plot twists and unnecessary drama, they just want to make us laugh, enjoy ourselves and be done with it. I might be wrong though, and honestly, I might try to check some anime movie out later.

There is also this way anime watchers make it look like they are smarter than everyone else🤣 I mean, are the movies that psychologically thrilling and hard to decode? I guess it's really meant for mature minds if it's like that. Kids do not have the time and patience for that sort of confusion. They just want to see colorful characters and hear songs they can vibe too.

Apart from all these, there is also a big difference in the representation of the characters from cartoons and anime movies. Characters from anime are more realistic than the ones from cartoons. Cartoon characters are so unrealistic and even the acts sometimes. A character will break into pieces and the next minute, it is back as whole again🤣 Anime on the other hand presents things differently, if a character is slayed, it dies as expected. Unless it's a storyline where there are super powers and one crazy plot twist.

I think I will stop here but then, I wonder what my comment section would be like if I had said there isn't any difference between the two. I guess anime watchers will want to have my head for the disrespect 🤣🤣💔 I am not scared of you guys though😌, I put down what I honestly thought. I do hope I get to see what you all see in anime movies, one day.

Thanks for reading ❤️

True that cartoon don't have much plot twists as much as Anime, and its main purpose is for the family to enjoy themselves and possible have a good laugh.

A kid may not understand the whole anime story but I bet that they will enjoy it because of the pictures and graphics. Those are what kids look at, they don't stress themselves too much on the story line.

Lol, exactly! What concerns a kid with the storyline, they just want to have a good time looking at what the characters does.

I kind of agree that anime isn’t for kids. Because even me as an adult sometimes I don’t understand what is going on and the movies go on for way too long like over 100 episodes…oh come on

With your post explanation, anime isn't for kids. Cartoon will always be my favourite if I am to go back to choosing it. Although I don't do cartoons anymore since I have grown up. Lol
