Rambligns: plantas novas
To my always friends from the FreeCompliments community, my best regards!
For a few days, I’ve been passing through my route to work and noticed that a house in the neighborhood was cleaning up its plants. Some trees were pruned, and the remains were left on the sidewalk. Among them, there were also some ornamental plants. Curiously, one of them was exactly a variation I’ve been wanting for our home.

This Snake Plant has a white stripe along its entire edge. This makes it a variety we didn’t have and that would look great in our garden. I didn’t think twice, and just now, as soon as I got home, I went over to the neighborhood to ask if the material was available.
Luckily, I was greeted by a friendly lady who was interested in my enthusiasm for the plant. We quickly started talking and exchanging ideas about what we have planted in our garden and vegetable patch. I offered some seedlings I have available:
- Silver banana
- Rue
- Basil
- Peace lily
The kind lady was interested in basil, but this also comes in varieties. I have the all-green kind, and she wanted purple basil. I used to have that purple basil, but I live in an area with a harsh winter, and the frost ended up killing my plant. I couldn’t offer that one, but I’ll soon look for a way to get that variety again.
And in this brief interaction, I made a new friend in the neighborhood. And how important that is! Being in touch with the people around us and maintaining good relationships is essential for our well-being and especially for our mental health. I managed to set aside a bit of work that has been exhausting this week, and that helped me stabilize a lot.
Now I’m focused on finding a plant to reward my neighbor for her kind gesture. As they say: Kindness begets kindness.

Por alguns dias estou passando pela minha rota rumo ao trabalho e percebi que uma casa da vizinhança estava realizando a limpeza das plantas. Foram desgalhadas algumas árvores e os restos depositados na calçada. Ali também apareceram algumas plantas ornamentais. Curiosamente, uma delas era exatamente uma variação desejada aqui para nossa casa.
Espada de São Jorge - Source
Essa Espada de São Jorge possui um detalhe em branco por toda lateral. Isso faz dela uma variante que não possuíamos e cairia muito bem em nosso jardim. Não tive dúvidas e agora a pouco, tão logo cheguei em casa, me dirigi até a vizinhança visando perguntar se o material estava a disposição.
Por sorte fui atendido por uma senhora simpática, que se interessou pelo meu interesse na planta. Logo conversamos e trocamos algumas ideias sobre o que temos plantado em nosso jardim e nossa horta. Ofereci algumas mudas de plantas que tenho a disposição:
- Banana prata
- Arruda
- Manjericão
- Lírio da paz
A boa senhora se interessou pelo manjericão, porém este também tem variantes. Eu possuo uma que é toda verde, ela gostaria de um manjericão roxo. Já tive esse manjericão roxo porém estou em uma região com inverno forte, e a geada acabou matando minha planta. Não pude oferecer essa mas logo vou procurar uma forma de ter essa variedade também.
E nessa rápida interação fiz amizade com mais alguém da vizinhança. E como isso é importante! Estar em contato com as pessoas ao nosso redor e manter uma boa relação é fundamental para nosso bem estar e principalmente para nossa saúde mental. Consegui deixar de lado um pouco do trabalho que nesta semana tem sido desgastante e isso ajudou muito a me estabilizar.
Agora estou focado em conseguir alguma planta para recompensar minha vizinha pelo gesto de bondade. Como dizem: Gentileza gera gentileza.

Eu, agora mesmo tenho que verificar meu jardim de Caça e fiquei muito satisfeito com a forma como minhas plantas estão crescendo.

Eu também tenho um jardim e após ler seu comentário lembrei que teremos GEADA na minha região, o que pode ser muito prejudicial as plantas, portanto preciso urgentemente COBRIR minhas plantas para que não sejam queimadas pelo frio que virá amanhã de madrugada!

Olá, se uma geada vem, bolo regá-lo cedo, pelo menos 6 horas antes do frio, as tampas com plástico ou pano e se você pode separá-los um pouco do chão.
E se a noite for muito fria, coloque luzes de Natal, ou lâmpadas de baixa potência, para que o calor as proteja, mas não as danifique.
