This time I'm going to start my thematic Friday with a little reflection on traffic.

I live in a small town in the interior, and here the traffic tricks are not like in the capitals: everything is very straight and determined, within the pattern established in the most remote times. I mean that turns are allowed at virtually all intersections, the roads are always two-way, or "two-way" (you can go and come back on the same street), as it is called here. The streets tend to run parallel... anyway... nothing too fancy.

But there's always a smart guy wanting to modernize things... and here we are with some one-way streets ("simple hand"). In this type of modified street, we have two lanes going in the same direction.

But the population is not used to this kind of thing, causing many messes to happen. Today I saw one of them.

With the implementation of one-way streets, and the population unaccustomed to such modernity, some citizens decided to make a left turn (green car), where they would enter right at the beginning of the one-way street. However, he prepared to enter the side of the road where he is used to doing.

It turns out that a crowd of cars (orange cars), including me, was accumulating along the avenue. At that moment I didn't know what was going on. After a few minutes with the road completely stopped, some drivers began to swerve around the edge of the road. At first I thought there had been an accident.

It took some time for us to identify that there was a person with difficulty accessing the one-way street, as he was in an unfavorable position.

At the time, my colleagues in the vehicle commented on the lack of ability with traffic and other jokes. But deep down, I was thinking about how everyone was affected by one individual's lack of practice. And we all suffered from it, without anyone offering help.

The thing lost even more of the fun for being an elderly driver. From this little mishap that happened I kept thinking about how we let ourselves be hit by unpleasant things by simply not being able to reach out and help. I know, I didn't do anything different either. And I was way back in the long line, not knowing what was going on up front.

One day it will be me struggling with some "modernity", and others will pass me by, just wait to see what their reaction will be.

Desta vez vou inaugurar a minha sexta-feira temática com uma pequena reflexão sobre o trânsito.

Moro em uma cidade pequena do interior, e aqui as artimanhas de trânsito não são como nas capitais: tudo é muito certinho e determinado, dentro do padrão estabelecido nos tempos mais remotos. Quero dizer que conversões são liberadas em praticamente todo os cruzamentos, as vias são sempre de sentido duplo, ou "mão-dupla" (você pode ir e voltar pela mesma rua), como se chama por aqui. As ruas tendem a ser paralelas... enfim.. nada de muito mirabolante.

Mas sempre tem um espertinho querendo modernizar as coisas... e eis que estamos com algumas ruas de sentido único ("mão simples"). Nesse tipo de rua modificado, temos duas vias indo para a mesma direção e sentido.

Mas a população não é acostumada com esse tipo de coisa, fazendo com que muitas trapalhadas aconteçam. Hoje presenciei uma delas.

Com a implantação das vias de sentido único, e a população desacostumada com tamanha modernidade, algum cidadão resolveu realizar uma conversão à esquerda (carro verde), onde entraria justamente no início da via de sentido único. Porém, ele e preparou para entrar no lado da via onde esta acostumado a fazer.

Acontece que uma multidão de carros (carros laranja), dentre eles eu, foi se acumulando ao longo da avenida. Naquele momento eu não sabia do que estava acontecendo. Depois de alguns minutos com a via completamente parada, alguns motoristas começaram a desviar pela borda da pista. Incialmente pensei ter havido um acidente.

Levou algum tempo para identificarmos que havia uma pessoa com dificuldade em acessar a via de sentido único, pois estava em um posicionamento desfavorável.

Na hora os meus colegas no veículo comentamos sobre a falta de habilidade com o trânsito e outras gracinhas mais. Mas no fundo, fiquei pensado em como todo mundo foi afetado pela falta de prática de um indivíduo. E todos sofremos com isso, sem que nenhum tivesse oferecido ajuda.

A coisa perdeu ainda mais a graça por se tratar de um motorista já com idade avançada. Desse pequeno infortúnio que aconteceu eu fiquei pensando sobre como nos deixamos atingir por coisas desagradáveis por simplesmente não sermos capazes de estender a mão e ajudar. Eu sei, eu também não fiz nada de diferente. E eu estava bem afastado, na longa fila, sem saber o que acontecia lá na frente.

Um dia serei eu com dificuldades com alguma "modernidade", e outros passarão por mim, basta aguardar para saber qual será a reação deles.
