CrazyPhantomBR and garden journal challenge
Hello hive community! CrazyPhantomBR here speaking directly from South America, Brazil. I'm here again to show you my little amateur garden.
This time I want to invite you to check out the updates from my backyard! I've participated many times with posts in the community always focusing on my fruit trees, and now I want to give you a look at the recent news. With this photo below I can better explain everything I've been doing in my backyard that is under renovation!
In this photo we can see:
- Our new "São Thomé" type chipped stone floor, at least that's the name in Brazil. I built this floor myself, removing the grass and preparing the soil for concrete and laying the stones.
- Our new fruit-bearing orange tree that has gained a special position, it is the newest plant we bought in a specialized store, it has already tried to bear fruit while still in the pot but didn't hold.
- Our Tajete type flowers, at least that's the name in Brazil. We chose vibrant colors to compose our garden, and I planted them alternately on purpose.
I also worked with my Tahitian lemon that came out of the pot to thrive in the ground. It has already produced, and was posted here in 2023, now it is quickly expanding its horizons and is already trying to produce, even though it has only been in the ground for a few days. Since I have construction material right next to it, I preferred to take a more macro photo.
Only two fruits are growing, but the plant has already started flowering again, so I imagine that production in 2025 will increase! I will still have to do some severe pruning to clear the plant of unwanted shoots.
Another new development is the transplantation of the climbing plant that I did when I removed the plant from one location and took it to another. I had to do a severe pruning beforehand, and kept practically only the main trunk, which I twisted and braided manually while it was still developing.
The thick branches are the main trunk, and the thin, green ones on the right side are the new shoots that should support the plant in this new home. I took advantage of the photo to show another new development: we added orchids along the trunk of the climbing plant. This required the use of a fabric fiber to keep the substrate adequate next to the roots, as well as wire staples so that everything would not collapse in the rain.
In total, six orchids were added to the trunk of the climbing plant, which could guarantee an explosion of colors if they bloom together! We don't have much luck with orchids, but we hope they like the place and the care we put into all this work!
Finally, a little spoiler of our front yard, with this photo from inside the living room, where we can see the development of the bunches of grapes that are within reach! The expectation is that they will be ready to harvest in January!
That's it, folks! When I finish the renovation, I'll post all the photos of the entire space. For now, enjoy the macro photos and I hope you've had a taste of wanting more!
Nesta foto podemos observar:
