Duc Son Pagoda - a pagoda that raises more than 100 orphans and disabled children

Hello everyone, how are you?
Because the weather in Da Nang city recently is not good, with rain and floods in the central region, I couldn't go anywhere. Last week it rained less and I joined a volunteer group to help orphans and disabled children in Hue city. The place we went to was Duc Son pagoda, a pagoda that raised nearly 100 orphans and children with birth defects. Today, we will visit this temple.

The pagoda is located on a village road with a peaceful atmosphere. We left the car outside and walked into the temple. When looking from the outside, the pagoda looks quite small, but when inside, it is a large campus with many rooms with many different functions. When entering the temple, the first thing you see is the temple nameplate, followed by a large tree in the temple yard. Nearby is a place to worship Buddha statues and a place for monks to chant sutras. Next is where the children live, this place is the playground after tiring school hours for the children in the temple. Because the pagoda is the home of children abandoned by their parents and disabled children, this place is frequently visited by philanthropists. Donors will give gifts, cook food,... to partially help the children. In the main house is where photos of the children's activities in the temple are kept. These photos will preserve the memories of their youth and the most beautiful moments they spent in the pagoda.

I was taken by a friend in the temple to visit the children's bedrooms, where the beds were close together and the items were neatly arranged. There are separate men's and women's areas, and a section for disabled children. When I entered the room of disabled children, I felt very sorry for them and saw many difficult situations. In this room there are children with different diseases. I am very happy that I had a trip today to meet and learn more about the unfortunate lives and the noble hearts of the temple when raising and taking care of the children here.
