Street Vigilante: An Unlikely Hero in the Fight Against Crime

When I was little, I enjoyed watching a lot of superhero movies. I also remember that Power Rangers was on almost every day, and what I understood from it was that good people fought to combat evil. That resonated with me a bit, because who didn't want to be the Red Power Ranger?
The ethical values that we absorb while watching the series give us that feeling of justice, but as we grow older, we realize how much "being just," being honest costs. In Brazil, unfortunately, in recent years, or even to be more precise, in recent decades, my country has a reputation for being a corrupt place, and this comes not only from politicians but from the citizens themselves.
The Life of a Vigilante Thirsty for Justice
Who hasn't imagined at some point in their life being someone who fights crime? Doing the right thing and living by doing what you consider right? I myself have thought about doing that a few times, however much of a daydream it may seem, but it's something that's built up throughout our lives. But if I had enough money to do whatever I wanted, could I finally "realize that childhood dream"?
Hypothetically, I wouldn't just be a vigilante of the night, sometimes with all the injustice we see in the news, the urge is to be something closer to what we see in The Punisher series. Especially because, bringing it to the reality of my country, I wouldn't leave rapists alive, much less those murderers of defenseless people. But of course, for that I would have enough money to, in addition to having "my toys" like Batman, I would have a team to help me know exactly who the bad people are.
Bringing this to reality, I recently learned that a man killed an elderly man because he told him he had raped a child. He simply broke into the old man's house and killed him. He took justice into his own hands, but even people close to the victim don't accuse the old man of doing it. So, perhaps that feeling of "doing what is right" can't happen to everyone. Because if everyone acted that way, civilization would end.
Returning to the hypothetical life of a vigilante, there would be no shortage of reasons for people to seek justice by their own hands. Laws exist here, but in many cases, the law itself keeps the criminal out of jail. It's even disheartening to live in a place where crime pays. No matter how hard you try to live honestly, there will always be someone trying to bring you down.
Therefore, if I were a kind of night watchman, I wouldn't lack work here in Brazil. I would need a very large team to fight crime, but I also wouldn't worry about arresting criminals there; I would eliminate the most dangerous ones, so they wouldn't commit crimes again, right?

Quando eu era pequeno, gostava de assistir bastante filmes de heróis, também lembro que passava basicamente todo dia Power Rangers e o que eu entendia ali era que pessoas de bem lutavam para combater o mal. Aquilo ali mexia um pouco comigo, pois quem não queria ser o Power ranger vermelho?
Os valores éticos que a gente vai absorvendo ao assistir a série, faz a gente ter aquele sentimento de justiça, mas na medida que vamos crescendo, percebemos o quanto que "ser justo", ser honesto custa caro. No Brasil, infelizmente nos últimos anos, ou mesmo para ser mais preciso, nas últimas décadas, meu país tem fama de ser um lugar corrupto e isso vem não apenas do político, mas sim do próprio cidadão.
A Vida de um Justiceiro Sedento por Justiça
Quem nunca imaginou em algum momento de sua vida ser alguém que combatesse o crime? Fazer o certo e viver fazendo aquilo que você considera certo. Eu mesmo já pensei algumas vezes em fazer isso, por mais devaneio que isso possa parecer, mas isso é algo que é construído ao longo de nossa vida, mas se eu tivesse dinheiro suficiente para fazer o que eu quiser, será se eu poderia finalmente "realizar esse sonho de infância"?
Hipoteticamente, eu não seria apenas um vigilante da noite, às vezes com o tanto de injustiça que a gente ver nos noticiários, a vontade que dá é ser algo próximo ao que a gente assiste na série do Justiceiro. Até porque trazendo na realidade do meu país, eu não deixaria vivo estupradores e muito menos aqueles assassinos de pessoas indefesas. Mas é claro que para isso eu teria dinheiro suficiente para além de ter "meus brinquedos" como o Batman, eu teria uma equipe para me ajudar a saber exatamente que são às pessoas más.
Trazendo para a realidade, recentemente soube que um homem matou um idoso porque o avisou de ter estuprado uma criança. Simplesmente ele invadiu a casa desse senhor de idade e o matou. Ele fez a justiça pelas próprias mãos, mas até pessoas próximas a vítima, não acusa o idoso de ter feito isso. Então, talvez aquele sentimento de "fazer o que é o certo" não pode acontecer com qualquer pessoa. Porque se todos agirem dessa forma, a civilização acabaria.
Voltando para a hipotética vida de um Justiceiro, aqui não faltaria motivos para as pessoas buscarem por justiça pelas próprias mãos. As leis aqui existem, mas em muitos casos, a própria lei deixa o criminoso fora das grades. É até desanimador viver num lugar onde o crime compensa. Você por mais que tente viver de forma honesta, mas sempre existirá alguém tentando te derrubar.
Portanto, caso eu fosse um tipo de vigilante da noite, trabalho não iria faltar aqui no Brasil, eu precisaria de uma equipe bem grande para conseguir combater o crime, mas também eu não iria me preocupar em prender lá criminosos, os mais perigosos eu eliminaria, pois assim, ele não voltaria a cometer crimes, não é mesmo?
