Wimbledon Semi-Finals Previews
As always, I continue to place all my bets on Sportmarket Pro which offers by far the best odds on the market taken from different asian bookmakers & exchanges. So far, I took 86 bets staking just 2.178 units and making +0.577 units of profit good for +26.49% ROI. So I'm pretty much playing with house money and some room to take slight bigger in these final stages.My general strategy is to see the closing line and take those as the real odds and get in live based on too radical changes when for example the one serving takes the first game, momentum switches, nerves of lower ranked players who start good, general feel for the odds. I'm by no means an expert which is why I keep my stakes low but based on my general results in tennis I feel like there actually is a bigger edge compared to football. This said, previous results don't guarantee future results and I could have just gotten lucky for all I know.
Thursday Womens Semi Finals
Sabalenka vs Anisimova: I always enjoy watching and betting Sabalenka matches. If she plays her best game there is nobody who can stop her but unfortunaltely too often she makes unforced errors and gets caught up in emotions. This often brings matches where you feel that she can break any given game as easily as winning a service game, so if she has a bad period while odds increase the risk is usually worth it especially if the opponent gets nerves from being in front. In the last round she barely managed to get passed Siegemund but this mainly because her opponent had the capability to play a really annoying style with tons of dropshots, deplay in play, slices in a match where it all was excecuted really well. This was also the only match so far where she dropped a set. I don't see Anisimova capable of such a style as she is a aggressive baseliner, with powerful groundstrokes which should suit Sabalenka much better. The odds on a straightforward 2 Set Sabalenka win feel worth the risk and I took 0.06 units as an initial bet on Sabalenka -1.5 Sets @ 2.100 with an eye to possibly increase in-game if she has one of those episodes or if Anisimova would start serving and win the first game in case that influences the odds too much.
Bencic vs Swiatek: So Swiatek had a period a couple years ago where she pretty much was unbeatable and quickly became the number 1 in the world. This was followed by a weaker year and issues to cope with the pressure. She also is a clay court player and generally hasn't done too well on grass. However, if very much feels like she is reaching her best form again and she seems to have somehow cracked the grass court code. Bencic used to be avery promesing player when sho was younger but never really managed to break through. She now is 28 and is having a good run at Wimbledon. She beat Andreeva in 2 sets in a match that could have gone both ways and had a couple 3 setters in the early rounds. They also played last year in Wimbledon 1/8 finals which ended in a 2-1 win for Swiatek and 2 tie breaks in that match. Swiatek should in the best spot to win this match but given how she rarely keeps the focus for an entire match these days there might be a better opportunity in-game. I did take just 0.04 units on Over 21 @ 1.960 as a 3-setter or 1 set ending in a tie break would be no surprise. The outright odds on Swiatek are not an option and the 2-0 set win has just too low odds. If those get to 2.11 or higher in case Anisimova would start serving and wins the first game I might take a bit on those.
Friday Mens Semi Finals
Sinner vs Djokovic: The reality right now is that Djokovic is no longer the best player even on grass and the most he hopes for is to be able to take it to 5 sets reaching his best form while holding up physically. Sinner right now for me is just the better player overall which also shows in all the recent encounters which includes a 3-0 win in Roland Garros. Both have minor injury worries. for Sinner the fall on his elbow seemed to play a role in the Dimitrov match which he actually could have lost. Against Shelton there was no issue however and with a couple days rest I don't think there is any issue. Djokovic has a nasty fall late in his match which could be an issue but I don't really expect it to be. For me, this one is quite straightforward even though there is a scenario where Djokovic plays his absolute best form and Sinner has a bad day which I see unlikely. I took 0.177 on Sinner -1.5 Sets @ 1.961 and might take a bit more in-game depending on how things go.
Fritz vs Alcaraz: Alcaraz has grown in this tournament after no t really putting up the most solid performances in the earlier rounds. Fritz also reached the Quarter Final here last year but he's 0-2 against Alcaraz both losing in straight sets. Odds are too low on Aracarz to take the risk and I don't want to oppose him either as he has shown really good form in the previous matches. No Pre-Game Bets
