This is a weekly overview of my personal sports betting/trading results on teams from the Belgian Jupiler League, documenting my journey toward long-term profit with some insights on my overall approach.

After taking a shot placing higher stakes outright bets last week without too much intention to hedge which went into nightmare mode even though I would take most of the bets again in a blink, last weekend I went back into conservative grind mode which is much more comfortable. It also resulted in some upside again of close to half a unit. I pretty much concluded that right now, I'm much rather safe and comfortable with limited swings to trying to get the most out of it which comes at the cost of potenial much bigger downside.

It was by no means an easy week which mostly resulted in me having to stay away from certain bets both which would have won with some luck (Zulte on the 1H corners) or lost with bad luck (Zulte-Waregem once again). Overall, I feel I'm back in my old state ready to finish the regular season in overall profit and with an eye to also kind of follow the playoffs with lower intensity.

Pre-Game Preview Bets Season 2025-2026

I did have 1 stronger pre-game bet on Genk on the +1 handicap which could have lost put pushed and it also has much lower closing line odds of 1.72 compared to what I managed to get at 1.890 which is always the main indication still. The alternate bets however on Genk 1H +0.25 and Genk +2.5 corners did end up as losers though.

Season 2025-2026 Personal Betting Chart

I still hate the look of the chart with the massive dip last week. At least it's now back going up and I still kind of want to get to the expected profit line even though that most likely will have to include the playoffs. At the same time, there is no guarantee and for all I know it might end up in a first losing year even though I likely will cut it short in case that is about to happen. This week also had the lowest recorded volume at just 2.525 units staked. I'm not sure if I quickly will take another shot though as that requires me to be up more inside the green so another failed attemt doesn't get me in the red.

Thanks, I'm hoping to end the regular season strong & in worst case cut it short to keep the steak alive of never having had a losing season in betting the belgian league. It remains a challenge though.

Nice consistency this week! 🎯 Do you usually stick to conservative grind mode, or mix higher-stakes bets often? Also, how do you decide which pre-game bets are worth the risk versus skipping?

Well, it's a pretty sharp market and quite the challenge to pick bets that have massive value. It's somewhat of a confidence thing, purely financially, I'm able to bet bigger all the time but it makes no sense to do so when feeling that the edge is very limited. In the past also when I saw lines that I felt were way off, I more than often was proven wrong. So when I'm in a good streak and feel I'm on top of the market (which was the case last month) I tend to give a shot at getting bigger stakes kick started. However variance remains a big factor so even if I was right, having higher stakes still can end in disaster.

In terms of how I decide, it's more an experience thing I guess. I've been betting the league for a couple decades and watch all games, so based on thta combined with understanding the market I make calls of what to bet and what to skip. It used to be a lot easier in the past but it's still beatable, and most of all it remains something I enjoy a lot.
