This is a weekly overview of my personal sports betting/trading results on teams from the Belgian Jupiler League, documenting my journey toward long-term profit with some insights on my overall approach.

Week 25 was a solid one where I reached new highs in terms of season profit getting to +4.7 units profit there at some point. It was also a week where it could have gone a lot worse as my biggest bet which won (Genk -0.25) also has some scenarios where it would have lost even though they deserved the win at the end. On the other side, I had a pretty good position on Zulte-Waregem away against Stvv where the snow really gave the edge to the underdog without that the line moved because of it. They were more confortable at the start of the match and got 0-2 ahead only to give away a penalty for which the ref somehow also gave red for which was a double punishment which got it to 1-2 with 10 vs 11. At the end of the match there was a goal where the VAR saw offside of a player in the line of the goalkeeper but the ref didn't change his opinions which really left zulte kind of screwed. At the same time, the calls also were not to the extent that they were a disgrace. More a situation where everything just went against Zulte and for Stvv somehow which ended that one with a small loss as I managed to hedge part instead of another solid winner.

If anything, this shows that there are rarely easy wins and betting is mostly just one big grind with a limited edge and rather high variance. I do manage to keep that variance limited by always setting some safe or reducing the risk where I can. This one again this week made for a situation where without any risk there was a chance to hit a big one which I just can't seem to hit this season.

Overall, it was a good week though with just over 1 full unit of profit, and I'm looking forward already to the next!

Pre-Game Preview Bets Season 2025-2026

I did take up my biggest pre-game bet on Genk -0.25 @ 1.900 as an official bold suggestion which did end up in another winner. At the same time, the odds increased a bit and I forced myself to sit on my hands waiting to see what it brought live. As they fell behind, I had some more stake to deploy which worked out as hoped.

Season 2025-2026 Personal Betting Chart

Week after week I pretty much try to get my overall volume up and this one I kind of succeeded getting to a total of 7.408 units staked which is my highest of the season so far but still below the 8-10 units that I'm aiming for. I'm now up over 4 units on the season which leaves some more room for slightly bigger stakes and I will try to get my "minimum bet" up from what is now 0.12 units to 0.15 units which are most of the action as medium to higher stake bets are just really rare there days. At the same time, I'm always cautious toward the potential downside as that can go really quick in betting. The good thing though is that I have full control over any kind of tilt or chasing after so many years surviving this business which is one of the key apsects that you need if you want to beat the market in the long run.

That's a very nice profit!
I do agree with the decision of the ref concerning the third goal of STVV. Even without the player standing there, the goalie never would have reached the ball.

It's just that when you add it all up, Zulte really got kind of screwed in this match by all the ref calls combined as every 50-50 call went against them. It doesn't helpseeing it from the other perspective though if you have a lot riding on it or if you are the coach or players of that team.

Regardless, over the long run all these things even themselves out when it comes down to betting. Sometimes you get lucky, other times it goes agaist you.
