Week 13 Results | 9W-12L-3P | -0.405 Units Loss

This is a weekly overview of my personal sports betting/trading results on teams from the Belgian Jupiler League, documenting my journey toward long-term profit with some insights on my overall approach.

Week 13 was somewhat different and I only managed to get in 2.5 units of volume almost entirely skipping Sunday as I got sick in the morning unable to make my usual Preview post which I think is the only time so far in the past 8+ years that I missed a full day. I did end up watching the matches in my couch on my tv instead of in front of my computer.

In a way it was a good thing as all the leans I had would have ended up in losers. Westerlo against Genk turned out in a very low xg match with Genk for the first time this season keeping a clean sheet. OHL as a low-ranked team were the favorite against Genk who are way higher up which made me paranoid. There was the new coach angle for the home team and the fact that Gent had a total off day in their previous away match. That one ended in a 4-0 home with where every single counter went in on a 1.22-2.32xg on the match. Stvv turned out a 1-0 winner against Antwerp but I was unable to pull the trigger on the home team -0.25 due to the low confidence I'm at right now. La Louviere somehow went over the total and I was quite lucky to get away with a push on a small 1H under bet that I took.

There were many cup matches in the mid-week but in this round with many clear favorites I historically never really did well so I kept the stakes to an absolute minimum. It was one of those cases where I easily could have ended with some profit but ended with a small loss.

The main loss this week came from a 0.4 unit pre-game bet on the 1H under in Anderlecht vs Mechelen where the home team so far on average had 0.5 goals in their 1st haves home matches. That one turned into a match where they showed up and really pushed early on which resulted in a high scoring 2-1 first half with my bet being totally wrong.

All this made me end the week with a limited -0.405 unit loss and most of all a real hit in my overall confidence. The only real bet that won was on the late over in Club Brugge which I took mainly based on a pre-game move in the market and I more and more feel like this is the way to actually get edges in the market I have to pivot more to instead of actual handicapping based on knowledge that I think I have. Lines are just super tight nowadays and each time that I think I see something that is off, I almost systematically am proven wrong on it which makes it near impossible to take bigger positions.

So yeah, I have my work cut out for me in order to stay profitable and that is my main goal in the end. So in the coming weeks, I likely will get a lot more conservative and take less bets all togheter in the hope to make some adjustments and gain confidence again.

Season 2025-2026 Personal Betting Chart

Despite everything, I'm still ranging above the expected +2,7% ROI profit this season which is great. However, this doesn't fully paint the correct picture, as the volume just isn't there. At an average 8 units of volume weekly this would be +2.808 units of profit expected while I'm now at only 1.850 units profit expected which is 34% lower.

Knowing my own weakness and limitations, I guess is what has kept me profitable overall, but I do need to make some adjustments in order to really grow and get to where I want to be.
