Sorare More Fun Again, But Too Late
While I'm in the process of getting out of Sorare because the entire economic model is a recipe for disaster, where only a few lucky ones actually win. I can't help but feel that they managed to make it a bit more fun again. The fact that I managed to get super lucky with some really valuable rewards did help with this.
- There are fewer lineups to submit. At max for me 8 compared to the 25+ last season. I'm perfectly happy just playing in-season to try to win some cards to dump and take profit on.
- The Crafting System is actually better compared to last season as there is always this jackpot possibility.
- The Daily Spin Wheel makes me keep coming back.
1st Rare Mint = 5-Star Top Tier Player
So I recently did my first Rare mint picking out of 10 hidden choices without any boost applied and I managed to get super lucky to get one of the top-tier pay2win cards as Trincão from Sporting CP who is a striker with high average scores of a top team that plays in Europe and he's also an international. So Very high utility for this card and big money is paid for it.
This is pretty much how sorare works, there are a handful of players who consistently score high and win the rewards which are in high demand and worth a lot. On the other hand there are a gazillion totally worthless players that make it a lottery as 7 of them all at once need to get high scores to order to be competitive. At the same time you can manage to grind some essence rewards and get super lucky on the draft.
With the previous Auction that went for 266€ for this card, I wasn't going to get greedy knowing the 266€ in most cases is a lot less since Sorare is throwing with 50% discounts on the cards that they sell everywhere. So I went quite some under that at 215€ which I was more than happy with in the hope it would get picked up by someone. I did first get a couple lower offers around 170€ but I only made a counter offer on those going a bit lower compared to my initial sale price. However, before I knew it, someone actially paid 215€ for the card.
These prices are sure to drop a lot as time passes by and since I don't play in-Season it woud be stupid for me not to dump it as quickly as I can. Similar to what I did with Vanaken limited a couple week ago where I got 51€ for even though I would have gotten more. By now however, Vanaken goes for 40€ now.
Vanaken Limited 2 Weeks Ago
Vanaken Limited Now
This is exactly the problem with Sorare, as card values age like an opened milk bottle and this even without the risk of injuries or transfers to non-supported leagues. If you don't instantly win big cash prizes with them it is extremely frustraying. More and more cards also get in circulation and once the season is over they get dumped in a pool were there are thousands of copies (which have higher bonus%) and they become near worthless while the scores you need to hit are ridiculously high since there are so many of the top pay2win cards out there.
Week 4 Essence Rewards
It was kind of a frustrating week as De Wold last minute could not play which left me with multiple lineups that had a DNP. However, I understand that DNP's are part of the game and I did earn 357 Limuted Essence working toward my next mint.
More Limited Reward Card Mints
I did manage to get 2 more limited Reward Card Mints and actually will keep track of the overall earnings this year

Buying Some Cheap Classic Rare Cards
As I'm still following the Belgian League and have fun with Classic, I will scout the market at times for players that I feel are too cheap. This week I bought 3 rare cards.Gustaf Nilsson 1.98€: He's one of the potential starter strikers for Club Brugge who got injured a while ago which put him on the bench. It is not unthinkable for him to at some point getting back in the team scoring a couple goals and get on a crazy good run which would make him highly useful and desirable.
Hendrik Van Crombrugge 3.00€: He's currently again the 2nd goalkeeper in Genk but the 1st choice has not really showed to be that great and I can use Goalkeepers to enter lineups in Europe. So ghe will help me with that and there is a chance that at some point he might get his chance.
Mathias Delorge-Knieper 3.00€: He once was one of the best transfers in the league but AA Gent has struggled and he has now been putting in average scored of 38 points for 20+ weeks in a row. It doen't take away from the fact that he's still a good player and most of all under 23 for a couple years to come. So I would not be surprised if he regained his form at some point in time setting one big score after another as he did some time ago.
Conclusion
I'm actually having more fun again with Sorare even though a lot of it comes down to having been extremely lucky on my card draws which already made this season better than the previous ones. I will continue to slowly but surely get out thoug even thoug I'm picking up some cheap rare cards here and there.
thats a great reward congrats @costanza
I do fear that I already used all my luck for the seasons to come though :)
@costanza That sale of a rare in-season Sorare card for about $230 makes the platform feel both exciting and fragile. It’s cool to score value like that, but when most cards barely move and utility cards dominate tournaments, it starts to seem more like luck than strategy. Sorare’s whole model leans on appealing scarcity and escapism through collectibles, not consistent returns. Selling for €215 when similar cards now flop for €40 illustrates just how fast hype and value can evaporate.
