I was unable to pull some triggers in-game yesterday which left me with a minor loss on the pre-game bets and 6 more games to go in Week 9 of the Playoffs starting with just 2 matches today...
Standard vs Dender
Standard remains a team who are not just not able to create much even in playoff 2 and they also still don't give that much away. So far only their home game against Mechelen ended in a 2-2 high scoring game at a 1.27 - 1.31xg. So generally it can be expected that they will have another one of those painfully bad matches. Dender however especially on the road have had some high scoring matches with an average of 6.5 !! goals in their away matches. However, this only resulted 1 points even though they scored in each one and at least 2 or more in 3 of them. So this match is somewhat of conflicting patterns of both teams as with Standard you would always go for the under while the over is the only real choice for Dender. Since it's playoff 2 which sees so often these crazy matches, only really the over is an option. Standard with only 2 Draws and 2 losses at home got 1 goal against in 3 of them and 1 goal in the other. So for me either the Dender Team Total Over or Both To Score are options. Odds on them though are just below what I'm comfortable with so I will be hoping on a slow start of the match and possibly take bets on both Dender TT Over 1 & Both To Score when these odds get over 1.80+. Dender went over 10 corners in 3 of their 4 away matches, all the home matches of Standard so far went to 9 corners or more. Standard won 2 of their 4 home 1st half corners while losing Narrowly to Charleroi and taking a draw against Mechelen. This while Dender lost all 4 1st half corner matchups. One of the main topics in this match is how Standard has been unable to win a playoff match in 28+ matches or so and in this last home game of the season I expect them to start at least the intention to break this streak. Dender likely will start again with high pressing which eventually fades away. I ended up taking 0.25 units on
Standard 1st Half -0.25 Corners @ 1.866 which feels worth the risk. For other bets I will just wait for in-game options.
Antwerp vs Union SG
So Antwerp will play their last home match of the Regular Season with most likely another to go against Charleroi. Their main standing was taken down so it will be strange feeling to watch and also likely to play. They kind of still have a chance to end 3rd and also still can be passed by AA Gent even though both are unlikely even if they win or lose both matches. However it helps to still give them motivation. In their year of the title, they were helped by Club Brugge who won a match they didn't have to even though the Club Brugge fans wanted them to lose. This is something that might still be in their head with an opportunity to return the favor. In the first encounter it was a match Where Union was simply better and Antwerp played poorly. Antwerp is mediocre at best right now needing Chery in the offense to make a difference while Janssen is injured. Union took another classic Union win last week not playing all that great but flawless defensively and giving everything while managing to find the goal thanks to a mistake from the opponent. They are without Burgess today wut I don't expect this to be a problem defensively.In 8 matches so far they only got 2 goals against and I expect a similar style match where they out work the opponent and get their goal eventually while not giving much away. When I pulled the trigger on an Antwerp team total bet the odds had gone down from 1.80 to 1.77 but I still felt comfortable with 0.16 units on
Antwerp Team Total Under 1 @ 1.770. I would be surprised for Union to get caught up in nerves but it certainly is possible and the -1 line for me is not worth the risk. I'm also tempted by the 1H Under 1 at 2.2 odds but I'm staying away there.
