It was a solid Saturday making close to 0.5 units of profit despite the fact that I continue to keep my stakes really low. I'm hoping to continue the momentum on Sunday where there are 3 Playoff 1 matches...

AA Gent vs Anderlecht

AA Gent has absolutely horrible form in the last 2 matches losing 0-5 at home against Brugge & 5-0 away against Anderlecht in the mid-week. They gave away a lot of gift goals in those matches and just were unable to make a stand one way or another. While I'm sure they will be motivated to show a reaction, it's just hard to flip this around all of a sudden so my main lean is on opposing AA Gent and for the trend to continue. Anderlecht now is comfortably in 4 the place which is the maximum they can reach aside from the Cup. So most of all today they need to avoid losing against Gent to keep the gap and I would not be surprised if they continued to experiment some more with an eye on the cup final. I did take 2 early bets of 0.113 units on Anderlecht +0 @ 1.877 & just 0.044 units on Anderlecht Team Total Over 1.5 @ 2.230 both while the 5-0 massacre was unfolding. Gent possibly can speculate on a 5th place and might not want to take the risk to go for the win and opt for a draw which also would stop the bleeding. I expect this to be a match where the first goal might be the hardest but possibly followed by opening floodgates. I plan to do most my betting on-game on this match.

Genk vs Antwerp

Just looking at the results it feels like Genk totally collapsed with 2 losses against Rivals Brugge & Union while not getting further than a 1-1 draw away against Antwerp. However the away match against Brugge looked ok but they lost with a late penalty against. Union was a different story as they really had a hard time with the play style only really union can put on the pitch. The away match against Antwerp did feel like their confidence got quite a hit and they were fortunate to get away with a point as Penders had to stop a penalty to avoid the 2-0. The main takeaway from that match for me was that Genk simply have a way better bench so late in the match when it is needed they should be able to get the best of it. Antwerp is in a situation where they also need a win so it should at least at one point be an open match. I do expect Genk to be able to reach a good form today and be just better but the question is if a -1 line is worth the risk. For now I took just 0.1 units on Genk -1 @ 1.932.

Union SG vs Club Brugge

Union played a similar high intensity annoying style against Club Brugge in the mid week and it worked as they took a 0-1 win and Brugge never really had the answers to their strong defense. I expect a similar match today especially since a draw is enough for Union to keep the 1 point lead over Brugge after what is their most difficult match. The question for Brugge who still have the best team in the league is if they manage to make tactical changes to make things different this time. I can see a scenario where they do or where Union doesn't manage to bring the same intensity or takes a red card while a draw in the end is enough for the home team. Based on those factors I took 0.2 units on Club Brugge +0 @ 2.014. I do expect an under match unless Club Brugge takes the lead which would mean Union needs to change their gameplan and play to score.
